ANN PRIVATEER

ANN PRIVATEER

Darkly

high upon a wall
a child tries to reach
states of wonder and glory
growing ever so slowly
it seems until each mark
becomes a little higher
states of wonder
as pure as the morning

Wonder

Rivers rise
Change shore lines
Mountainsides slip
And slide from
Fires, drought,
And too much rain
Insane, madness
Glad to make
Your acquaintance.

Into The Dark

As quick and as quiet
As a tiny mouse
Hovering in tall grass
Wondering where
Tomorrow will be
In Witch Elm
Or Knotted Pine
Seeds for the
Appetite, love
And kisses galore
Filled and filed
Fire and Moon
Pay tribute
No longer blue
Jaguars leap
What a sight.
