KAZIMIERZ LINDA

KAZIMIERZ LINDA

STALOWA WOLA

* * *
you wrapped in a cotton of time
your dreams
you madę them disappear by one word
unborn

now
they arę suffering a chronić anemia
they die of starvation of unfulfillment
should they die
nothing will bring them back to life
there will be neither sarcophagus nor a can
even memories
will vanish

* * *

owinęłaś bawełną czasu
marzenia
oddaliłaś słowem krótkim
nienarodzone

teraz
cierpią na chroniczną anemię
umierają z głodu niespełnienia
jeśli zapadną żadna
reanimacja ich nie wskrzesi
nie będzie sarkofagu ani puszki
nawet wspomnienia
nie pozostaną

I WAS LOOKING FOR YOU

I was looking for you
in the folds of imagination
I was waiting for your image
unknown to me

I was looking for you
among familiar places
I was hailing your portrait
from my fancy

I was looking for you
even though you were so close
The touch of your palm
seemed
unreal

I was looking for you
in the tangle of memories
You vanished
like a breeze of squall

I will not find you
in the past
in the presence
the future does not show
any hope to look
into your eyes

**
Szukałem ciebie

szukałem ciebie
w fałdach wyobraźni
czekałem na obraz twój
nieznany

szukałem ciebie
wśród znajomych twarzy
przywoływałem  portret
z mrzonek

szukałem ciebie
choć byłaś tuż obok
dotknięcie dłoni
zdawało się być
nieosiągalne

szukałem ciebie
w gąszczu wspomnień
odeszłaś jak powiew
szkwału

nie znajdę ciebie
w przeszłości
teraźniejszości
przyszłość nie rokuje
nadziei na spojrzenie
w twoje oczy

DAYBREAK

At quarter to six
When my alarm clock stiii snoozes
I open my eyes one at the time
Checking if the day
Has freed itself from the embrace
Of the Moon
I do not plan for the day
I drift with the time flow
I gazę at moving clowds
Collecting events
Closing chapter of reality
One after another

***
Świt

Za kwadrans szósta
Kiedy budzik jeszcze drzemie
Otwieram oczy po kolei
Sprawdzam czy dzień
Wyzwolił się z objęć
Księżyca
Nie planuję dnia
Poddaję się nurtowi czasu
Patrzę jak suną chmury
Zabierają zdarzenia
Zamykają kolejne rozdziały
rzeczywistości

  1. Kaziu. Ja znam Ciebie i wiem, że zawsze dodajesz moje nazwisko do tłumaczonych przeze mnie Twoich wierszy. Tu więc wydawca musiał coś przeoczyć, mojego nazwiska tu nie ma, a to tłumaczyłam ja - Dorota Zegarowska. Wyjaśnij to jakoś z wydawcą.

To the editor. I am the author of the translation of these poems. Please add my name to them - Dorota Zegarowska
