DEBORAH BROOKS LANGFORD

DEBORAH BROOKS LANGFORD

IT’S BEEN A THOUSAND MILES

A thousand miles
You still make me smile
Magic, which I do perceive
In your eyes that speak to me
That moment’s glance
Full of life, is our love

We live in our dreamy world
Laying in your arms
With a special glint in your eyes
I know, those thousand miles
Still make me smile.

Our sun shines
Brings us more smiles
And all awhile
With glisten eyes
We know togetherness is all we want

WHEN

Our unawakening dreams
Press so hard
Leaving me behind
You have changed
Implicit and despair

PENNING A CONFESSION

Surrendering your pen
Painted the pain
Torturing the paper with the lead
Soulless attack on painted paper
Bleeding shaking hands
I surrender

Writing pen I disagree,
You are hurting me
I have served you willingly
But now I cry
You silently

I confess
I cry out
Life is not what it is all about
Help me find my light
My happiness

Debbie Brooks ©

DON’T BLOCK MY PEN

Trapped in this pen
Trapped I can’t comprehend
Touching the paper
I don’t see white
Blackness over comes me
In this night

A single drop of nothingness
Numbness overcomes me’
All is a black shadow of similarity
Nothing to pen

Crying out to creativity
Overcoming shadow of numbness
Spill the light from my pen
Light and breathtaking
It has to be
But here I sit with pen in hand
I lay my head hopefully to blend..
