IPSITA GANGULI

IPSITA GANGULI

FOR HERITAGE

Alive
I was then, and am now
Breathing through time.
An edifice of glory
Witness to your story
As it unfolded
And made You.

For You
Are unique
Carrying within yourself
My seeds,
Even as you spread
Your wings
To fly into
Your future.

And yet
Although you
Extend your branches
And bloom into new blossoms
It will always be I
Who holds you strong

Then,  Now and Forever
Even as you grow
into your own progeny
You will  find your roots in me

THE QUESTION MARK

My Last Supper
Was spent
In suspended animation
Over the last drink
And a chimera

And I hung
Upside down
A question mark
In human form

The wine playing
Tricks, in my head
Hallucinating
Deliberating
Conversing
With my skull
Outside my Form

And we talked
Over wine
That seeped in
Crept inside out
And Hung over

The clarity
That only intoxication
Can bring to Life
Even as we question
Its very existence
All the while
This form
These questions
Decompose

Crossing over
An inebriation
Called life
To a fossilised existence
Where the skull too
One day will
Evaporate to bone dust

Particles shining in the sun
Caught in the slant of the ray
Settling to the light
Of the twirl of the crimson
In the goblet
Holding up my wine
Except that the Wine too
Is Hung over
And upside down
In suspended animation
Vision Time Mind
Compressed to a human form.
In question

TWILIGHT

In the twilight
Of life
There is freedom

When all is done
The ebb
The flow
The ascent
And descent

One
Goes back
To the beginning
To rest
In the nest
Of calm

To that forgotten
Freshness
To wake
To the sound
Of the gurgling brook
And chirping birds

To look back
Over the precipice
And smile
At the journey...

In the twilight
Of Life
One looks up
To see
The bright
Orange orb
Turn mellow

Into that
Halo of light
Into that
Beauty of life
Into the Peace
And the calm

That lies
Lies ahead
Into freedom
