NILAVRONILL TALKING WITH
POET OF THE MONTH
DANIJELA
ĆUK
NILAVRONILL: Welcome to Our Poetry Archive, dear poet.
And congratulations as the poet of this month. I would like to know your
personal views on literature or poetry in general.
DANIJELA
ĆUK:
Yes, of course, thank you very much. I think that literature and poetry are
very useful for this society and the world, they make it rich, they provide and
give so much, and everyone should be a part of that beautiful world in some
way. Only one who knows poetry in his
soul, as well as literature in general, can understand its richness and thus
become a literary rich person himself.
NILAVRONILL: What are the factors that have influenced
you immensely in the growing phase of your literary life. When, most probably
you were not certain of your future as a poet or writer. Do you think society
as a whole is the key factor in shaping up you as a poet, or your poetry
altogether?
DANIJELA ĆUK: It was
influenced by the love of poetry and some situations from real life. I have always been confident as a poet and I
think society as a whole is a key factor in shaping me and poetry. Overall life
situations and social issues have greatly influenced my poetry, so I put
everything I saw or heard in the real world into my verses and in that way I
actually created a life of poetry.
NILAVRONILL: Do you consider your literary life as an
extension of your self-existence? If so, how it is related with the time around
you?
DANIJELA ĆUK: I believe
that it is connected in a way that shapes me as a person over time and extends
the meaning of my writing. I believe that the literary world extends me as a
poet and in such a way that by giving myself to the literary world, I actually
extend the meaning of my existence. The
purpose of my life is to write in such a way as to help other people to look at
life differently and to bring them the light and hope as well as the strength
that they need so much in life, and with that I truly believe that the literary
world extends me both as a person and as a poet.
NILAVRONILL: As a poet, do socio-economy and politics
in general influence your literary visions? If so how, and if not, why?
DANIJELA ĆUK: They
influence, of course, because I extract verses from various situations and find
inspiration. All situations in this society and in the world greatly influence
my view of poetry as such, in such a way that I find myself in every
situation. Because only by starting from
myself and then through society as such can poetry come to life, make it
breathe and encourage other people to love poetry, to find in them what they
may be missing so much in life. So far,
I have succeeded in that and I hope I will continue to do so.
NilavroNill: Is it possible to put into the words
everything that as a poet you wish to express literarily? If not, why?
DANIJELA ĆUK: Yes, it
is possible. It is possible to put into words everything that the author wants
to express literary, because I know from my experience. I can’t say some words with my lips, for
example, but I turn it all into words, into every verse, and then love,
strength, hope and light can be seen in those verses. Therefore, the words that come out of the
mouth are not so important, but those that the poet can bring to life with
verses that breathe love and life.
NilavroNill: Do you agree with John Keats
(1795-1821) on his ardent believe, “Truth is beauty, beauty is truth”? Even if
we take for instance the war of Kurukshetra, the conflicts between Kauravas and
Pandavas, or the fall out of second world war in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, how
can we manage to reconcile between those truths with beauty as promulgated by
Keats?
DANIJELA ĆUK: Yes, I
agree. I agree
because beauty is really truth and truth is the beauty found in our
poetry. Beauty is everywhere around us,
we just need to find it and bring it to life.
And the goal is not only to love and appreciate what is life, but also
what may have died a long time ago but is still alive through its verses and in
its poetry. True beauty never dies,
never disappears, but always lives, it’s just important to preserve it and not
let it disappear.
NilavroNill: Too many writers believe imagery
is an essential part of poetry. Do you agree this notion? Even if we consider Leonardo
da Vinci’s words that poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.
DANIJELA ĆUK: Yes, I agree.
I believe that this is true, because even in things that may have been
invented, that many times have no contact with reality, one can certainly find
beauty, which is deeply connected with poetry. Poetry lives in images, in
imagination, in everything that we ourselves want to live. Things that we often
think that when we see them with the naked eye, do not mean much, in fact, when
you look at them with heart, soul and poetry, they really have a great
value. You just have to see them, not
with your eyes, but with your soul and heart, and then with the poetry itself.
NilavroNill:
Do you believe, passionately
falling in love with a particular language is essential to excel in poetical
ventures? And is it possible to write poems in multiple languages preserving
same literary quality? We would like to know your own experiences.
DANIJELA ĆUK: I think and we believe that it
is so because writing poems in several languages enriches poetry. I have
written many times in foreign languages, even my poems have been translated
into several languages, and I realized then how rich it is to turn my verses
into the wonderful wealth of languages and their unique world.
NilavroNill: Do you consider poetry as an
emotional outbursts of poet’s personal sentiments? Or is it a long journey to
realize and express the universal sentiments beyond all personal limitations?
Again, we want to understand your views through your personal experiences of
your literary life as a poet.
DANIJELA ĆUK: I believe
that because feelings are closely related to the expression of emotions,
because there is no poetry without feelings, I show all my emotional side with
verses Poetry is
emotions because it is only through emotions that every verse, every word,
everything that is in the soul exists in verses. For years, I have shown my emotions in lyrics
and in such a way that I opened other people’s emotions with my writing. For example, when I wrote poetry for women
suffering from serious illnesses, it meant the world to them and gave them hope
for a better tomorrow.
NilavroNill: I would like to quote T. S.
Eliot, “No poet, no artist of any art, has his complete meaning alone. His
significance, his appreciation is the appreciation of his relation to the dead
poets and artists. You cannot value him
alone; you must set him for contrast and comparison among the dead.” We would
like to know your views in details on Eliot’s comments.
DANIJELA ĆUK: I believe
that Eliot was right because it is very important to appreciate dead as well as
living poets, that is love. I believe that Eliot wanted to say that it is not
only living poets that we should appreciate, nor living paintings, but also
those poets who are no longer alive but live through their poetry. So, I definitely agree with him because even
what is no longer there or who is no longer there is still alive, we just all
need to understand that. Because poetry
is an art that lives in verses, painting is an art that lives in pictures, and
artists are people who know their words and thoughts and can turn them into
poetry or pictures through life. Art is
life!
NilavroNill: Would you consider, it should be
the goal of a poet to enlightens the readers towards much greater apprehensions
as well as appreciations of life and eternity in general? Or is it better to
write poems only to console the poet’s soul?
DANIJELA ĆUK:
The goal of the poet should be precisely to enlighten the
reader towards much greater fears. I believe that a poet should illuminate the
path of other people with his verses, not just keep them for himself and his
soul, because not much is achieved that way.
If we want our poetry to live, I believe that this can only be done if
we share it with others, if we achieve the goal of entering someone’s soul with
our verses, opening someone’s heart and helping to create a poet even in a
person who is not a poet.
NILAVRONILL: We are almost at the end of the interview.
I remain obliged to you for your participation. Now, personally I would like to
know your honest opinion about Our Poetry Archive. Since April 2015 we are
publishing and archiving contemporary world poetry each and every month. Thank
you for sharing your views and spending much time with us.
DANIJELA ĆUK: Your archive of poetry is wonderful because it enriches poetry and
makes it the life of this world. The
strength of your poetry archive is so great that every poet can easily find
himself in it and strengthen himself.

Life Is Transient
Today we are here
tomorrow we may not be there,
so let's catch our little moment of happiness,
and let's keep it because it is worth its
weight in gold,
let's not let its shine fade.
We humans do not understand that life is
fleeting,
and to bother our thoughts with unimportant
things,
instead of enjoying each day
and his wonderful charms.
Not every day is full of smiles and peace,
but each of us chooses our life path,
each of us should actually be grateful,
on the little things that cut special threads
in our heart.
And let's hug each other,
that this world ceases to be a tunnel of
sadness,
which our hearts go through constantly,
let's give our maximum love.
Should we really allow that?
to fall to the very bottom,
so that only then will we all understand,
how valuable it is to live in peace and love.
Your Shine
Dear soul, you who may be suffering right now,
it's time to open your eyes so you can see all
the beauty in the world,
life is neither honey nor milk,
but with your smile you make it bloom.
Do you know that they are the greatest
fighters?
who have fallen at least once in their life,
those who have felt all possible pain,
but they didn't give up.
It seems to me that right now,
I see your tears through these verses,
that's how happy I'd like to be,
that's how she would like to make her dreams
come true.
And it seems to you that no one understands
you,
that nothing goes according to plan,
hey...wake up from the embrace of darkness,
and find at least something beautiful in every
day.
You've lost so much already,
and it seems to you that every loss is your
greatest defeat...
I ask you this now: do you have heart and
soul,
do you have love in you and a clean face?
If the answer is yes, then know one thing,
you are the star of this world
the one with the most beautiful shine...
And don't turn it off because then the sky
would cry,
and the rains of life would fall like crazy,
every tear of yours is a drop of rain,
and the rays of your smile offer so much
wealth to this world.
Dear soul, you who was not caressed by life,
no,
don't let anyone extinguish the sparkle in
your eyes,
burns stronger every day with the ardor of
life,
and be blessed with a heavenly gift.
And hey...Proudly wear your smile on your
face,
may the sky envy you for your beauty,
because remember: it's not gold in gold,
but in mental goodness.
Just You And Me
Tonight, when the lights all go out,
then only the heavenly spell remains,
and this night full of our passion,
while we try to steal kisses from each other.
While we look into each other's eyes, without
a single word,
our hearts united enjoy happiness,
only the stars look at us innocently,
as if they don't give us peace.
Only you and me, and this universe seems to
know,
that we are two beings joined into one,
because this is just our moment,
just our story.
Just you and me,
two souls and two hearts,
entwined in a vortex of love,
with the speed of kisses that cannot be
stopped.
Our eyes tell us everything,
for us others do not exist,
just me and you and lips joined together,
while our hands touch only the sky, embraced.

France
France, you are
my dream
I was intrigued.
Reaching the
heart,
Miracle was such
a song.
France, the
center of culture,
The lyrical
music was pulsating.
As science
progresses,
His literature
was well-known throughout the world.
France, the
center of powerful symbols,
The Eiffel Tower
was lit.
“Freedom,
Equality and Brotherhood,
Marianda wore a
blue-and-white-red flag.
France, you are
the city of youth,
The streets of
Paris are full of flowers.
Triumph is your
only miracle,
It is surrounded
by a red plain.
France, a symbol
of beauty,
He spread
fashion all over the world.
You are an
example to us with your elegance,
I know you from
Chanel.
France, the
defense of heights,
I always look at
you.
I am also natural

My flowers are

The sun is

I will be a

Edelweiss
Аmong the high,
strict mountains,
Ages pass slowly
into eternity,
I look at this
slope,
the edelweiss on
it is so flawless
Not everyone is
destined to see -
The edelweiss
flower is the rarest and white,
At the foot of
the glaciers
He admires the
clouds directly from the sky.
I also want to
contemplate
In a sultry
summer, the goodness of the landscape, flowering,
nature can
create
Wonder how this
flower phenomenon!

Jamila
The image of
Jamila who laughed abruptly
She was kept at
the bottom of his heart nicely
Seit might be in
fact, Chyngyz himself
Who loved Jamila in secret way in his life
He remembers
when Jamila was far away
Lying on the
ground about his love
He keeps in his
heart the picture he draws
And the image of
Jamila, his first love
Such events had
happened in his childhood
When he was in
his green quiet years
But you know
such moments always stay
In the very heart of the writers anyway
Thus, there
appeared his novel “Jamila”
That never grew
old and new all the time
Time passed her
love appears at the very top
Like symbol of love “an edelweiss” that is
nice.

She Alone Knows...
With the help of
my heart...
I erased dumb
phrases,
She was stuck on
a broken wall
When she spoke
to her, tears of poetry...
With the
blackness of his dark ink.!
====================
She alone
knows...
That the neglected
lines
Among lost,
worthless shelves,
I was the one
who unleashed the sun
Her face since
the first era.
=====================
She alone
knows...
That the sound
of pain...
A luxurious robe
that he did not wear
Except my ribs
and the silence of my eyes,
He danced with
his rich playing
When I left at
dawn.
====================
She alone
knows...
Despite the
darkness of the road
preceding the
past and the present,
I lit my lamps
with the palm of pain
To tread on
thorns with bare feet
To see me
squeezing coals...!!
==========================
She alone
knows...
The life
imprisonment decision is cruel.
Marginalization
is a form of execution
Peace be upon
the love that was his job,
Loyalty and
security!!
===========================
She alone
knows...
The explosion of
the universe was with a kiss!!
And the orbit of
the universe covers her smile with a cycle of tenderness!!
And night and
day, the beat of her heart is renewed.
And the soul
depends on her embrace.
=========================================
She and she
alone knows...
In marginality
and fog
vision
diminishes,
In connection,
the tone of love rises
Distances
narrow...
In tenderness,
the hands of time turn
And the doors of
pain are closed..!
Between storm
and calm
The poem is
revived.
===========================
She alone
knows...
That my soul...
scattered among
its verses,
And the love of
a poet will be ink on paper
There is no
safety in the sublimity of its forests
Tropical!!
=======================
She and only she
knows...
That sadness did
not know how to lie
And sadness for
his childhood and innocence,
It is true
love...
And his feelings
were true before he was born
He is the light
that never betrays
Sadness is
pampering and hope.
=======================
She and only she
knows...
Keys to hearts
She hallucinates
the fever of the meeting... trembling
And the breaths
are equal in severity
She prepares
bags for departure
Do not cut the
ropes of affection,
Let the acrobat
fall into the mire of pride
=========================================
She and only she
knows...
At the feast,
the songs make you smile
And our empty
dreams cry,
There is a
sweaty hand.
Holding on to
split ends
Nothing can
repair our worn-out clothes
The bus carries
a flock of wishes...!
===========================
She alone
knows...
I still don't
know my final stop
And in my
pocket, there are bright dirhams,
Enough to buy a
piggy bank
I gather in it
the bundle of my joy
And my
disappointments...!!

When The Years Pass
When the years
pass and we grow old
hug me with your
eyes
and touch me
with your soul
as your newborn
child!
Hugged me
gently, and yet tightly
to I know that
you keep me
and don't give
up just like that!
Touch my cheek
with a kiss,
and I will keep
it as your trust!
Remove the
curtains from your eyes,
look at me
gently as you once did,
and love me like
that at least sometimes.
Love my wrinkles
and these hands
which they know
to hug
even when they
get older.
Still love that
child in me,
just love me,
love me quietly,
love me a
little, because I care.
Love me dear,
when the years pass,
heal me with
your look when the pains come.
I need a hug and
nothing more
your closeness
and look mild
it will do much
more than that
what you once
could and wanted!
You Have No Idea
You have no idea
how much hurts
every poet's
soul hides ...
No, you don't
know nor will you ever know,
because you
think poetry is something
what is only
read and listened to.
You have no idea
what it's like
when you smile
and tears choke you,
when sobs are
heard from the soul.
What is just a
verse to you
for the poet it
is a proof of the suffering of all.
For you and many
others
there is a
significant poetic award,
you have no idea
it's just
confirmation for
a sick soul.
What you call
deserved recognition
for the poet it
is another proof
to have him less
and less.
Every word in
some verse
a sigh is one
noteworthy,
and every poem
with tears written
a piece of the
poet's heart was torn off.
Poets are
unhappy people
those who walk
the world with sorrow
but know, they
love the strongest and purest.
I know very well
how it hurts
because I am one
of those
who the verses
write these and that
and thus heals
the pains of soul ...
I am one of you,
of those
who strongly and
purely know to love.
Doubt
I know you
wander in your mind
That you wonder
day and night
Do I love you
and only you
Or I'm hiding
someone else in my heart.
You torture me
and yourself
And days and
years fly by you ...
Threads of doubt
you roll in the ball
One, then
another, then a dozen of them.
They roll in
your head, collide, unravel
And create chaos
It's not easy
for you, you can't figure it out
That I love only
you.
In vain, dear,
you torture yourself
You have a
thousand questions in your head
No way to
understand the truth right
I loved and I
love only you
Discard your
doubts about me
Instead of that
examine yourself
Do you really
love me?
