A Tremule Leaf
I saw a tremulous leaf on the pavement
it reminded me of the moment you passed away
the last moment of a vein to pulsate
the sky is gray and I see your face again
a child holding your hand
a winter garden without the snow
with many cypresses pointing high
that peace you have found
in your pink tombstone that doesn’t overlook the sea
I remember a man with a great burden
and a smile to open the heart
the wind
it tells me things about a growing tree
it tells me things about a river being born
he tells me things about a sad moment
It is not enough that the leaf rises
a dog barks in front of a door
and I sat on a bench
I see you riding a wave between the thorns of your three roses
eyes that shine like stars
when they have to shed light in the darkest night
my gaze as immature as a quince
in my thoughts
that silence that fills a glass with the most beautiful memories
I saw a trembling leaf on the pavement
and you have passed, passed away
as present as the air around me
Essay Of Love
I laid a hand in my heart
in my heart
in your heart
I watched the snow melt
no sound
then the sun
the air was no longer hidden
but consumed within a kiss
just as the water
flowed rivers in our veins
a step from the fruitful earth
a field of sunflowers
a hillside of blossoming cherry trees
fingers entwined like roots
hot as embers
cold as an ice cube
(your back)
chills!
an essay of love

Ermanno Spera’s poems are a treasure trove of ideas, inventions, hidden adventures where the poetic and artistic spirit of the author is compressed and expressed. In his works, the concept of troubled humanity almost always manifests itself even if the poet tends to hide and mask reality, making it become joyful and peaceful as his soul thirsting for peace and justice desires. Sometimes his poetry becomes hermetic and enigmatic. Many metaphors, visions and how much thought his mind releases which does not rack his brain over memory, but always tries to pave the way for new paths of the spirit.
