GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE

SUNFLOWER

(acrostic)

Sent by the Holy Father on Earth,

Understands men’s misfortunes,

Never complains about anything,

Faces the changing weather with courage,

Lives a simple life in the field

Offering her seeds to the hungry men

Without asking for something in return.

Every summer she brings a smile on my face

Reminding me to bring a birthday gift to mother.

Tears...

One by one

They’re running down the Holy Father’s cheeks

Witnessing the original sin comitted by the first men,

Inherited then by the vast majority of their offspring.

Reflected His wrath

When the Son sacrificed Himself on the cross

To save the lost souls.

Of grief Mary shed after hearing the news,

They turn to pearls when they touch the ground.

Treasure hunters see them as mere trinkets,

Only the pure-hearted know their true value.

The Organ Concert

In the Lord’s house we listen in silence

To the deep sounds of the majestic instrument,

Sitting up there from where it watches us like a sovereign,

Knowing well that it’s not allowed to boast about itself

In front of the paintings of the saints at the altar.

We slowly let ourselves be carried by the waves of music,

Feeling our souls becoming one.

Filled with humility, crystal tears of grief

Are running down our rosy cheeks.

We hear the voice of our heart clearer than ever before,

We feel Father’s hand caressing our crown,

Clearing our troubled mind of worldly burdens.

The Blessed Virgin Mary locks us in an embrace

Reminding us of a mother’s unconditional love for her children.

The melody attracted angels from the Celestial Realm,

The organist respectfully invites them to join him,

But they politely refused, taking a seat in the front,

Carefully listening to the musical homage paid to Him.

We gratefully thank God for all the help he gave us,

Promising to show Him the respect that He deserves,

But how many of us will keep our word to Him?

Only the Lord knows what lies deep within each of us

Regardless of the signs of the passage of time.
