soothing, calm & tidal

waves of laughter.

Laughter,

in the form of

tiny drops of rain.

Which when

It touches the

barren land -

Quenches thirst

and takes away

THE LOST FEATHER

“Those golden memories

exists till now.

Which we remember

and happily say wow!

When the

beautiful canary

of childhood existed

in the alluring islands of the past.

Her chirp

mesmerized us.

At present,

which we lost.

Its agile eyes

used to search

those pink flowers

of nectar.

Which were blooming

in the calm lake

and acted as

an eternal effector.

The cruel jaws

of maturity

have snatched

those wings.

Now,

we easily

do believe

in showy things.

Have you ever remembered

those childhood days -

Where's the childish craze?

Where's the catchy image?

Where are those sweet chirps?

Where's the flowery lake?

Where's the eagerness of the birthday?

Where's the taste of those cakes?"__________

"DURGESH VERMA is a Social Worker in Uttar Pradesh, India. Currently he is working for the State Government Program- National Health Mission as a Divisional Program Assistant- Quality Assurance. He has a track record of fund raising and publicity and is a skilled communicator. He is working as a President with the NGO- 'SPARSH... TOUCHING LIVES SOCIETY', (http://www.sparshtouchinglives.in/) at Varanasi in several fields. The aim is to educate primary level children so they may prepare their best future. He has participated in the National workshop on the 'Role of Higher Education, in the Development of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in India' which was held in 18th & 19th March, 2016 in Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has also participated in the 'Development Dialogue 2016' which was held in 19th July, 2016 in the Swatantrata Bhawan Auditorium, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. In the previous year, 7 of his compositions are published in USA in Feelings International: A Book of International Artists Vol.2 , 3 of his compositions are published in Canada in Voices of Humanity Volume 2 and a composition is published in Australia in THE AUSTRALIA TIMES POETRY- Volume 4 No.23. He has participated in a Public Talk on "Learn To Find Your Hidden Talent" by Mr. Geshe Michael Roach (Diamond Cutter Institute, USA) on 13th February, 2017 in Mahamana Hall, Seminar Complex, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India and received ‘Certificate of Participation’. On dated 25th February, 2017 he has also participated in An Inter Collegiate Debate on ‘Female Foeticide’ in IMA, Varanasi. On 8th April, 2017 he has also participated in LEAD- LEaders Accelerating Development program, ABLT (IIT - BHU). This year, a composition is published in an Anthology book "A Sublime Collection of ACROSTICS on Yayati Madan G Gandhi (By Poets Fraternity from Across the World)- Haryana, one of his composition ‘Overabundance of Books in Market’ has been selected & published with a brief context on Daath Voyage:An International Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies In English, a composition has been selected & published with a brief context on Diff Truths, 2 of his compositions are published in Tuck Magazine-Canada and on 13th of April, 2017 5 of his compositions have been published in Asian Signature: A Journal of Poetry and poetics. A University post graduate, Durgesh graduated with a degree in Commerce from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth University, Varanasi. He speaks Hindi and English and in his spare time enjoys listening to all genres of music, swimming, writing poems in Hindi, Urdu & English, which may help lead to global peace and harmony."
