Another Sunrise Together
Both of us
collapsed breathlessly
after once again
transcending time
and overcoming
physical limitations
like exhaustion
and dehydration
as we had trans
formatively achieved
at other times
and in other places
like the mystics
and holy men
journeying in
the astral plane
exploring the
mysteries of love
by surrendering
our bodies freely
to each other’s
whims and fancies
and watched the
brilliant tiaraed night sky
overflowing with
white crystalline stars
and mellow
golden moonlight blush
while making
love in all its dimensions
and earth
quakingly infinite possibilities
outlasting the
night and welcoming
yet another
rainbow sunrise together.
Sweet Seduction
Red nipples from
nibbling
biting and
pinching
like red-hot
candies
on your steep
Himalayan breasts
that no one but
I can climb.
Kisses like
wishes come true
drenching like
waterfalls
flowing uphill
and down
titillating
arousals
that excite and
forewarn.
Smooth tilled
skin
absorbing
caresses
like
groundwater, a downpour.
Your legs like
river beds
stretching to
the sea
my love a
gushing ocean
streaming
between them
until finally
cascading
into the moist
sweet lips
between your
rippling thighs.
Another Miraculous Morning
Last night I
couldn’t sleep
and after
tossing and turning
getting up,
coming back to bed
without a word,
you took matters
into your satin
smooth hands
and undulating
fingers
and like
individual kisses
massaged my
restless body
with a slathery
lotion
as transparent
as moonlight
on a full moon
night
a cool delight,
sparking
a very hot
response
as my suddenly
tingling flesh
came alive with
goosebumps
feeling your
lips moist as April dew
circling my
rioting tower
as you loved to
do
and did so
expertly
so I could take
over
and pleasure
you, trembling
until the sun
came up
on another
miraculous morning.
JOHN DEANGELO
JOHN DEANGELO was born and raised in
Greenwich Village. And if asked, he’ll tell you that he has always been an
artist, both a poet and visual artist. John is a Vet who served in Vietnam. And
whether out of fear of boredom or death, he first began writing and photographing
seriously. After making it home more or less intact, he received a B.A. in
English and subsequently pursued graduate study in Comparative Literature at
Rutgers University, where his focus was poetry and was fortunate to study with
the poet Nathaniel Tarn, who took him under his tutelage. He has been published
in various magazines and journals, has a chapbook entitled Beginnings and Ends,
and his books include Trump: American Carnage, and his most recent publication,
My Other Wing, a celebration of Love in poetry and images and is currently busy
prepping other works for publication. To satisfy his other passion, he took
graduate Fine Arts courses, specializing in photography and digital mediums (
painting, collage, mixed media) and has exhibited in both Chelsea and SoHo.

ReplyDeleteI have been acquainted with John the poet and John the visual artist ever since he began his creative journey - the other love of his life after his amazing spouse who I also came to know, and to understand the poetry which John created around her. I have been diligent in obtaining some of John’s early works for framing and for the gracing of my walls and my contemplation. His poems have now become even more poignant and comprehensive of the human condition since the loss of his beautiful ‘other wing’ not more than a year ago. She is his muse and continues to inspire John and I pray that he continues his journey for each of us who has at one time or another, experienced the lups and downs of being human.
ReplyDeleteAs a poet, John DeAngelo always explores the deepest, most extraordinary, and most baffling aspects of existence. Beginning with his profound respect for nature, he works outward celebrating life and love with language that is evocative and precise. Indeed, DeAngelo’s poetry exams his interconnectedness with family, friends, and community. Especially noteworthy are his love poems, where his ecstatic language depicts a mature understanding of exactly what a committed and fulfilling relationship can be. His imagery in such poems is startling. He is an erudite and masterful poet who weaves together the complicated and ambivalent stories that, in the end, constitute an intriguing and exuberant life.
