Before I Found You

 

I was going in circles,

The ones I wanted;

didn't want me, and

The ones that wanted me,

I did not want.

I'm glad we want each other

in ways that have no limits.

I mean,

who made limits to wanting someone?

 

 

Time

 

Some miss the times they had

or didn't have,

or the ones haven't had yet.

Some miss their right now's.

This now, I don't want to miss.

 

She Hears The Sounds

 

of the waves hitting the pier,

of the child laughing nearby

And the crips of the summer air.

She hears the voices of long ago,

of the warriors past,

telling her the message

that this too

shall come to pass.
