NILAVRONILL
TALKING WITH
POET OF
THE MONTH
ANTONELLA
CAUSA
JUNE 2024
NILAVRONILL: Welcome to Our Poetry Archive, dear poet. And congratulations as the
poet of this month. I would like to know your personal views on literature or
poetry in general.
ANTONELLA CAUSA: Literature and poetry have contributed in
general to enriching our vocabulary, improving verbal and gesture language,
nourishing the minds of people with a critical spirit and strengthening the
sense of belonging and unity of peoples.
NILAVRONILL: What are the factors that have influenced you immensely in the growing phase of your literary life. When, most probably you were not certain of your future as a poet or writer. Do you think society as a whole is the key factor in shaping up you as a poet, or your poetry altogether?
ANTONELLA CAUSA: The society and the world in which I live has really contributed to shaping
my soul, I express my thoughts in verse, I started writing as a child,
following strong emotions and vicissitudes of existential life.
NILAVRONILL: Do you consider your literary life as an extension of your
self-existence? If so, how it is related with the time around you?
ANTONELLA CAUSA: My literary life is an evolution of my existence, linked to sensitive
factors of spiritual gifts that I can perceive with my mind. The time that
surrounds me has no space and is infinite.
NILAVRONILL: As a poet, do socio-economy and politics in general influence your
literary visions? If so how, and if not, why?
ANTONELLA CAUSA: I follow the political and economic society of my country and also abroad, my literary visions are influenced by the behavior of humans and with my writings I would like to sow peace and brotherly love in their hearts.
NilavroNill: Is it possible to put into the words everything that as a poet you wish
to express literarily? If not, why?
ANTONELLA CAUSA: It is not always possible to express in words what you express literally,
sometimes the words are interpreted by the listener and lose the meaning of
what you literally write.
NilavroNill: Do you agree with John Keats (1795-1821) on his ardent believe, “Truth
is beauty, beauty is truth”? Even if we take for instance the war of
Kurukshetra, the conflicts between Kauravas and Pandavas, or the fall out of
second world war in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, how can we manage to
reconcile between those truths with beauty as promulgated by Keats?
ANTONELLA CAUSA: In various historical periods, we have seen lies wear the clothes of truth
and beauty has been polluted, it would be righter to put things right with
dialogues of truth. Beauty would triumph in the world with peace and love,
simply by spreading the beauty of truth.
NilavroNill: Too many writers believe imagery is an essential part of poetry. Do you
agree this notion? Even if we consider Leonardo da Vinci’s words that poetry is
painting that is felt rather than seen.
ANTONELLA CAUSA: Leonardo da Vinci felt internally everything that was his art. The image
becomes poetry in the moment it creates the emotion, we can say that following
an emotion felt by each of us it can be transformed into an image.
NilavroNill: Do you believe, passionately falling in love with a particular language
is essential to excel in poetical ventures? And is it possible to write poems
in multiple languages preserving same literary quality? We would like to know
your own experiences.
ANTONELLA CAUSA: If the writing is rich in content, it will excel in any language. If the
text is hermetic in language understandable for people of their own country,
others do not understand the nuances and sometimes the concept of the
externalized thought. From experience of literary translation from other
countries, I first try to understand the meaning of an expression, to find the
words and translate into an understandable lexicon in the target language.
NilavroNill: Do you consider poetry as an emotional outbursts of poet’s personal
sentiments? Or is it a long journey to realize and express the universal
sentiments beyond all personal limitations? Again, we want to understand your
views through your personal experiences of your literary life as a poet.
ANTONELLA CAUSA: Poetry is born with us and lives inside our hearts, it becomes an explosion
of feelings when we express our emotions to the world. The mind has no limits
of thought and writes fantastic poems, ranging beyond any personal limit,
projecting itself as a traveler of time.
NilavroNill: I would like to quote T. S. Eliot, “No poet, no artist of any art, has his complete meaning alone. His significance, his appreciation is the appreciation of his relation to the dead poets and artists. You cannot value him alone; you must set him for contrast and comparison among the dead.” We would like to know your views in details on Eliot’s comments.
ANTONELLA CAUSA: The writer T.S. Eliot, expresses with his words concepts that can be shared
and aligned with my way of thinking. Everyone is a talented artist of their own
creative gift. There are others who enhance the different uniqueness,
comparing, criticizing or appreciating the various artists. When an artist
dies, it is posterity who continues to give credit and value to what he left of
his art.
NilavroNill: Would you consider, it should be the goal of a poet to enlightens the
readers towards much greater apprehensions as well as appreciations of life and
eternity in general? Or is it better to write poems only to console the poet’s
soul?
ANTONELLA CAUSA: You start writing for yourself, for various reasons, to strengthen your soul. Then if you think rationally and want to achieve objectives that serve to enlighten other intellects, then write about everything, with deep meditation and knowledge of the topic, concluding with the writing of a literary text.
NILAVRONILL: We are almost at the end of the interview. I remain obliged to you for
your participation. Now, personally I would like to know your honest opinion
about Our Poetry Archive. Since April 2015 we are publishing and archiving
contemporary world poetry each and every month. Thank you for sharing your
views and spending much time with us.
ANTONELLA CAUSA: I think you have created a truly unique time space, an archive of
international minds, made up of poetic sharing with literary respect for
various cultures, it is a world of brotherhood and respect for all peoples. A
rich Archive of Poetry will remain in the memories of us poor mortals. Thanks,
Nill.
ANTONELLA CAUSA through her poetics opens the most secret places of
one's soul, so that may they become manifest and belong to all. Her lyrics can
be defined as a spiritual and existential journey, in which each of us can
reflect and find ourselves. A lyricism that releases vitality and confidence; a
poetics in search of emotional balance, of the true self. The verses, by
Antonella Causa, are tinged with hope, they are thoughts in constant travel, in
desires, in dreams and expectations. Pure style that lets everything flow
authentic suggestions. The author nourishes and satisfies with her writings,
leaving an indelible mark in the hearts of every reader.
The Man Of
Peace
The honest man,
strives for
peace
and it does not
generate war.
As he passes,
takes dignified
steps
for the sake of
peace.
Peace makes no
demands,
puts an end to
every conflict
and offers
serenity.
The man of peace
observes
and listen to
the needy,
does not oppress
or kill people,
shakes hands
with brothers
and embraces
them with love.
The man of
peace,
he is right in
his saying,
he is
industrious in his actions,
he is wise in
thinking,
bring hope to
the world,
he offers his
heart with human kindness.

L’uomo di pace
L’uomo onesto,
si prodiga per la pace
e non genera la guerra.
Al suo passaggio,
percorre passi dignitosi
per amor di pace.
La pace non pretende,
mette fine a ogni conflitto
e offre serenità.
L’uomo di pace osserva
e ascolta il bisognoso,
non opprime o uccide le genti,
stringe la mano ai fratelli
e li abbraccia con amore.
L’uomo di pace,
è giusto nel suo dire,
è operoso nel suo agire,
è saggio nel pensare,
porta la speranza nel mondo,
porge il suo cuore con umana bontà.

Take Care Of Yourself
Look after your
body like a temple.
Value time and
don't waste it.
Love with your
heart the strength you have inside.
Love of life
will be your center.
Face fears without
anxiety and fears
React with joy
and lightness to pain.
Walk tall with
pride.
Respect everyone
and forgive foolishness.
Smile and stay
yourself at all times.
Don't accept
being always absent.
Fill every
vacant corner with love.
Listen to the words
of every traveler.
He sings and
speaks out of every choir.
Your every
thought will be made of gold.
Stay beautiful
inside and out.
Everything you
do will be honors.
Take care and
water your plant.
It's you, your
very lifeblood.
Become as strong
as a blade of grass.
Be reinvigorated
with each new dawn.
Bow to the rain
and bend to the wind.
Rise with the
sun without torment.
Plant a seed in
the kingdom of your garden.
Give the scent
of knowledge to every child.

Sorridi e resta te stessa in ogni istante.
Non accettare un essere sempre assente.
Riempi d’amore ogni angolo vacante.
Ascolta le parole di ogni viandante.
Canta e parla fuori da ogni coro.
Ogni tuo pensiero sarà fatto d’oro.
Resta bella dentro e fuori.
Rinvigorisciti a ogni nuova alba.

The Oracle
The earth has no
seasons to waste at the moment,
adapts to
rebirth and new change.
There will be
times with sad and disastrous moments.
The day will
turn into night with a myriad of deaths.
The moon will
look for a place to dream.
The human will
no longer see the sun shine.
Polyphemus
shakes the fire of his forge,
as the earth
shakes, a virus approaches.
The world will
be dominated by false prophets,
by insidious
ignorance and unvetoed shouting.
The honest
people will be chained,
and he will be
imprisoned by a few powerful people.
The human
delirium of omnipotence,
he will be
brought to his knees without life and breath.
Caronte ferries
and in his travels,
carries souls
without stopping.
We cry over the
world and it is a ruin,
we all
understand by now that death is near.
The oracle says:
- When we are dead, we are penitents.
We love each
other as happily ever after brothers.
When hatred
spreads, bring love into your hearts,
healthy
principles, peace, respect and honors.
In the
afterlife, gold and treasures are not brought,
the bare soul
and conscience will be the values.

Titolo: L’oracolo
sarà messo in ginocchio senza vita e respiro.
Traghetta Caronte e nel suo viaggiare,
trasporta anime senza sostare.
penitenti.
Vogliamoci bene come fratelli felici e
contenti.

Woman Is Life
Pure love was
concentrated in the essence of man,
the procreation
of human life was given to the woman.
Every sigh of a
nascent soul, the woman keeps in her breast,
it nourishes him
with love, makes him become a small and great man.
He will give to
another being, the naked body of his soul,
with the silent
prayer of a new life.
In search of a
crying baby,
to safeguard the
task assigned to her.
The woman
touches and comes close to being her equal,
for a mission
conceived by a divine mind.
He will give
white petals of his body,
lapping the
coast and enjoying with pleasure
the concentrated
essence of a man's soul.
The woman will
be: aligned steps of every life,
whether small or
large.
The woman is
unique in her being Woman,
welcomes and
conceives love, becomes its guardian,
placing points
of light in its history.
She is music and
poetry in the world.
She is the best
smile of a new dawn
and the serene
smile of a sunset.
Woman is the
creation of a universe that never dies!

La donna è vita
L’amore puro fu concentrato nell’essenza
dell’uomo,
custodisce in seno,

Bridge Of Light
I live between
two worlds
in continuous
deep journeys,
ancestral
flights, encounters without wings.
I am a rainbow
bridge,
I catch sounds
out of the blue.
I look at the
impossible existence,
I speak words
with benevolence.
I am an
instrument of peace, I take away pain
and I give the
light of our Lord.
I am human with
sad and joyful tears,
I am bright and
I dazzle the shadows.
I smile at life
and welcome death,
I am a bridge of
light and I follow my fate.

Ponte di luce
Vivo tra due mondi
in continui viaggi profondi,
voli ancestrali, incontri senza ali.
Sono un ponte d’arcobaleno,
capto suoni a ciel sereno.
Guardo l’impossibile esistenza,

ANTONELLA CAUSA
ANTONELLA CAUSA: Our author focuses on
the life of every individual. In her global thought "everyone is unique
and important" and in life you don't move forward alone. Uplift with good
feelings: human soul, mind and heart. Antonella Causa often finds herself talking
to intelligent souls and spirits. It reports prophetic words of current times,
using simple language understandable to all. She predicts times that have
turned into reality. In her the words flow like pure spring water, sometimes
dictated by lights already experienced, eager to leave a further imprint of
their existence. For her, the universe of the world dwells within us, with its
own individuality and essence of spirit. In the verses we discover intimate
thoughts and hidden passions, fantasies and dreams, desires that intertwine in
intense and profound verses.
Scars Are Bleeding (Villanelle)
Thought I was
healing
the hurt had
been laid to bed
Scars are
bleeding
hell history
turning
memories still
feel misled
Thought I was
healing
an infection
keeps coming
the mind is how
it is fed
Scars are bleeding
conflict within
spiraling
anxiety rests in
my head
Thought I was
healing
the body is
pleading
to control the
unsaid
Scars are
bleeding
cannot let go of
this feeling
the forever
dreads
Thought I was
healing
Scars are
bleeding

Tired Of Smiling
Generally, I
walk through this world
with an
appreciative smile.
Happy to be
breathing in the earth’s air.
As of late, this
has become harder
as I watch and
see what is going on
in this world
all around me.
Read in our
local news
a local
synagogue had their windows broken
in the show of
the night
by a hidden,
cowardly person.
Leaving holes in
this sacred place
that means so
much too many
who visit for
their faith.
How can they
feel safe now?
Walking around
our city in the cold season,
seeing ones who
do not have a home,
without those
heated walls and beds.
Every winter
season there seems to be more
living outside
finding places to stay warm.
Hoping for doses
of hot food.
How do they have
the spirit to stay alive?
Hearing stories
of an overcrowded hospital
with
understaffed caregivers.
Precious
patients lining the hallways,
laying in
delicate conditions,
Feeling alone
and scared,
taking longer to
heal.
How are they to
feel cared for?
The weight of
all I am seeing
is resting
squarely on me
causing changes
in my emotions.
The calm
demeanour is shifting
and it is
showing on my face.
Tired of faking
and smiling.

Annie’s Worried
Annie drops the
children
off to school
and takes a breath.
Another morning
full of hustle
to get
everything off scheduled.
Hiding her
emotions from the kids.
With every step,
Annie’s worried.
Annie keeps her
smiles
for friends to
see on book night.
Not saying a lot
as she cannot focus
on the words of
each page.
Faking laughs
and enthusiasm.
She is hiding,
Annie’s worried.
Anytime the
parents or in-laws visit,
Annie plays the
perfect host,
chatting away
over coffee or tea.
Making sure
visits are perfect.
Annie’s worried.
The sun goes
down.
With a glass of
wine, Annie thinks,
mind full of
never-ending thoughts
that cannot be
shared.
Uncertain who
would understand.
Annie’s worried.
Annie thinks of
her partner in crime,
who is away as a
peacekeeper
for another four
to five months.
It is supposed
to be safe
however, she
feels the stress
in his voice
when he calls.
The news is only
showing disaster
in those parts
of the world.
Annie sees it
all and waits
for the day he
comes home safely.
Annie is strong
and holding the emotions at bay.
Annie’s worried.

Dear Stranger XIX
Dear Stranger,
I wish I could
ask you
how you are
today
however you are
now gone
and I cannot.
So many
questions for you.
The many
thoughts going through
that angered the
mind of yours.
Where did they
come from?
There had to be
a reason
for you to enter
your school
with anger in
your trigger finger.
Where there
issues at home?
Bullies in your
classroom?
Or a desire to
be known?
There had to be
alternatives
that were
thought about
as most of us
would not
have taken the
path
to destruction
and death.
What were your
thoughts
as you pulled
the trigger
on innocent
people
and then
yourself?
So many
unanswered questions
by all of us
that knew you
or did not know
you.
As they cannot
be answered
you will be a
stranger to us all.

Did Not
Looking back
through the mind’s memories
that constantly
flow in and out.
I can safely say
to myself
I did, where, in
the end, you did not.
From the moment
I saw you
the heart
skipped beats, the beauty.
I said to
myself, if I ever get a chance,
knew and know I
would,
give anything
for you.
Wanting nothing
but for you to be you.
All I wanted to
protect is you
from anyone and
everyone.
This was and is
how I felt and feel.
When it finally
came our time
so many words
and emotions were said
about our
connection that is felt by everyone.
We supported and
held each other
in the bad and
good times.
Tears of caring
were given.
Believe that was
why
my body and mind
was hit with a shock,
with everything
that was shared,
I did not see
you leaving.
I felt the grey
clouds coming
when our usual
words became silent.
That was when I
fought for us.
Sadly,
unexpected, you did not.
