GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE

The Immortal Eminesco

Remain in our heart, Eminesco,

To not forget about our origins,

So that the mother tongue

Echo across these holy Romanian grounds!

Twinkle, twinkle, great Morning Star,

Let’s waltz with nature on the lonely lily pad,

To light up the inner lamp with love,

Let’s live every minute with a smile.

Your verse penetrates into the depths of our soul,

Guiding us through the entire universe.

You’re brighter with every passing day and night

Proving to us that you’re an immortal poet.

Eternal Eminescu

Whispers in our ears through nature

When we decide to withdraw in her arms.

Twinkles through the fire flies of the night

Along with the moon shrouded in mystery,

Having Sandman’s permission

To arrange a meeting with us

In the wonderful world of dreams.

Spurs the shy lover

To tell Juliet how he feels about her

By enveloping them in linden tree scent.

Happily, looks at the Romanians dressed in popular clothes

Those are reciting his immortal literary works

In front of the linden tree that was named after him.

Through his light, he gives comfort to us

The souls filled of longing for him.
