A sick servant of God

By fighting

The most dangerous unseen creatures

with incredible courage

 

most sacred service

God first, then he

The virus pierces his lung first

As his eyes close, breathless, he says

BARBAROS İRDELMEN

 

BARBAROS İRDELMEN: Born in 1952, he is a medical doctor. He has been active in his profession for 45 years, and he lives in Istanbul. He is married with four sons, and five grandchildren, two of them granddaughters and three of them grandsons. His selected poems have been published in English, Greek and Spanish languages in various anthologies, international poetry festival collections in the country and abroad. His new poems appear in prestigious literary sites and magazines printed at home and abroad. Apart from his Professional book translations and papers, his seven poetry collections were published by the Artshop Publishing House: His published poetry collections: Aynen Abi! Dr.Barbaros İRDELMEN: Mayıs 1975 de,  İstanbul Üniversitesi İstanbul Tıp Fakültesinden mezun oldu. Yurt dışında bir süre akademisyen sonra dönüp klinisyen olarak çalışmış ve halen faal hekim olarak çalışmaktadır. Klinik Leitfaden Schwerpunkt Innere Medizin isimli Almanca tıp meslek kitabını; ‘’’Muayene Tanı, Tedavi, Acil Klinik Kılavuzu’’ adı ile Almancadan Türkçeye çevirisini yaptı, Yüce Yayınları tarafından yayınlandı. Çeşitli sivil toplum örgütlerinde ve spor kulüplerinde yöneticilik yaptı. TTB, ITO, Antoloji.com üyesi, Sanat ve edebiyat evi ile çeşitli internet sitelerinde yayınlanan şiir ve hikâyeleri olup, şiirleri KİRPİ Edebiyat ve Düşün Dergisi, AKATAPA Edebiyat ve Eleştiri Dergisi olmak üzere çeşitli edebiyat dergilerinde yayınlanmaktadır. Mesleki kitap tercüme ve makaleleri dışında, yazarın, Artshop Yayıncılık tarafından yedi şiir kitabı yayınlandı ve günümüze kadar on bir ulusal ve uluslararası antolojide şiirleri yer aldı.
