DONNA MCCABE

DONNA MCCABE

      A Poet Is...

An enigma of ink

That keeps on giving

The pen always seems to flow

Thinking and seeing so creativly

In another way of light

Immersed in a life of words.

Eclipse

The eclipse sends shivers

Down my spine

A magical alignment

So wonderful and divine

Two celestial bodies

Seeming to merge so fleetingly

Like long lost lovers

Embracing so sweetly

Go Easy..

Go easy on me

It's been a tough road

I'm in an emotional mess

Been on overload

I am still raw and tender

The bruises barley healed

Taking one day at a time

Relearning to feel.

Faded Lines..

The ink has run dry

But for a short while

Creativity snuffed out

In the blink of an eye

These faded lines

Are all that remain

For now...

Grey Days

A life of gloom and grey

Frayed edges, nerves gone astray

Tiredness that makes one pale

smoke and ash mounts up

As slow music plays

praying for a new chapter

With some colour to start

To lift this pale dysfunctional heart.

Karmic Acts

Entwined Bodies

Aroused and embraced

Karmic acts of delight

Cause the heart to race

The act of lovemaking

A sensual delight

Feeding on each other’s emotions

Tasting delights.
