ANNA CZACHOROWSKA

ANNA CZACHOROWSKA

A Stranger To Me, Close To Me

One really has only, what is in them.

Oscar Wilde

A stranger to me – a brother

a bunch of bones and flesh

A stranger to me – a brother

who measures everything in money

Close to me – a brother

who looks through the eyes of the soul

Close to me – a brother

moved by misfortune of others

To Fr. Jan Twardowski

I do not ask

for more

than I can

For one word

or three

And this piece

of Heaven

hidden in the Host

when it trembles

I want to keep it warm

with my heart

among the silence

of the One Night

Without concern

I will flow out into the abyss

I will with Christ

Stride

To Michał Winnicki

When we are already in heaven

let’s dance the Oberek

Your legs today weak

will quickly glide to the beat of the snare drum

When the loud voices

of the choirs of the angels will sound

Soon will burst the cords

of all weaknesses

The greyness of everyday life

into the sacred gold will change

So long as we have dreams

let us hold fast onto the hope
