GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE

A Leafy Poem

One by one, the little stars

Gather around and join hands,

Dressing the pillars of nature

In comfortable clothes,

Regardless of the occasion.

Whether they are green as the forest,

Yellow as the wheat fields in July,

Red as the love we share with our loved ones,

Orange as the flames of the phoenix’s feathers,

Purple to shroud themselves in mystery,

Brown as the bark of a tree,

They maintain their beauty until some decide

To detach themselves from the branches

And create a multicolored carpet on the bare earth.

Changing their shape often,

They offer us shelter from God’s watery wrath

Or sting everyone they consider a threat to their mother.

Year after year they remind us of the circle of life

That each living being is part of.

The Wait

Somewhere on the seafront,

The tree looks at the feathered gentleman

Dressed in a white suit with pale grey spots

Standing on the cold stone paved road

Not bothered by summer’s hot breath,

Nor by the stares of the passers-by.

Some say he’s the Holy Spirit in disguise

Sent on earth by Father to test us.

Only kind souls know better than to disturb him

From the silent meditation.

Others believe he’s the ghost of a man

That is still waiting for his beloved

To return safely in his arms.

Seeing him standing there all by himself

Makes me wonder „What is he thinking about?”

The Flower Of The Water Lily

Somewhere from the prison of triviality,

The flower of spirituality escapes,

Happy to bathe herself in the sunlight,

Ready to guide us on the path to kindness.

She holds the blessing in her innocent hands,

In the color of the rose, she keeps sadness away.

She blushes when the poet’s lips touch her cheek,

In the yellow aura of joy, she’s waiting for the beginning

Of a beautiful friendship and a peaceful life.

In the blue robe, she’s sharing wisdom

To find practical solutions for our daily problems

And feed our soul through prayer.
