In The
Interval
In the interval
between two
parallel worlds
day after day...
I wait for you
at the gate
wearing a black
trench coat.
With my face
veiled,
so I won’t
unsettle you.
Be still.
Only a white
rose
will pierce you
gently
in the silence.
Expectations
True lines carve
the sand—
palpable traces
of summer.
As the foot
sinks slowly,
expectations
fade
beneath the
blazing sun.
Far off,
a ship shimmers
into sight,
heavy with
despairing souls.
