JOANNA SVENSSON

Deep In My Garden Of Dreams

In spring one early morning

The brightest light just woke me up

A light that slowly swept me

In an inner comforting warmth

It was a feeling of pureness

A feeling of love

And I felt like a newborn rose

Deep in my garden of dreams

I am so unconditionally

Grateful for this gift

This gift is truly a blessing

To feel happiness within myself

A happiness to share with others

A happiness that always

Comes back to me

Here in my garden of dreams

I have planted for each one a rose

The only thing I begged them for

Was to give some plant nutrition

I never asked for gratitude

Just to nurse their roses

Give it stimuli and empathy

And share some of their love

Share some of their life-energy

But now from a different angel

I watch my garden of roses

I see so many

Of my precious roses

The strongest

The most expensive

With strongest life-energy

The ones I held most dear

The ones in whom I put most trust

I see them slowly start to faint

And one by one they wither

The flower-clusters hang

Their tired heads and cry

The ones I put by chance

Not giving so much hope

Instead have started blooming

With showy cluster-stalks

I sometimes feel

Like a gardener of conscience

Deep in my garden of dreams

Of course it is so

That some roses yet do fade

For nothing was asked in return

But then again

It yet may be so

That the ones that truly bloom

They rise their heads with dignity

For they are the true and honest ones!

The Calmness

Silence walks beside me

It’s probably the only friend

I want to be with right now

To heal my body

To save my soul

To clean, to clean my thoughts

And so we walk

Beside each other

The silence and me

And all the trees

Do follow our footsteps

Even my own shadow

Joins our company

The Ronne by-river

Follows every step we take

Silently it holds its breath

Sets the rapids

Calms the waves

It only whispers

The path towards

The Island of Bliss

I really need you, Oh, Silence!

After all these harsh words

That has hurt me as daggers

Evil words

From evil people

People that I loved so dear

People that I blindly trusted

People I confided in

And shared my inner secrets with

People that once was

The inner circle of my family

But they chose me away

Just because of money

Just chose me away

And all our life-long

Trusty life together

Togetherness walks slowly

Sadly, listless

With weary, dragging steps

I see his pale karma

Silently he joins us

Slowly we walk

The silent path

For silence heals all wounds

Silence embraces me

Takes me in his arms

He whispers in my ear:

You can always trust in me

In need I’m your best of friends

‘Cause I would never let you down

And arrived at the island

Calm awaits us

With her peaceful eyes

She reaches out

Her wide white wings

Embraces us all

And gives us peace!

A Summer Night’s Dream

Like a summer night’s dream

In this dark, dark ice cold night

Where even the moon and the stars

Feel ashamed of all that’s happened

It gives me solace

It gives me peace

with dreams of summer nights

So I may move forward with my life

with clean conscience and true heart

Without being ashamed of myself

For deeds I’ve done in my life

For I have always been good to others

Often neglecting myself

But sooner or later

It all has come back

To me with interest

All that I have given

Others in need

Has come straight from my heart

So now I know

That when I’m dreaming

Of summer in this cold and dreary night

When stars and moon are beaming

They light up my heart and soul

They give me the force of the universe

To steady be able to move on!
