AMBIKA TALWAR

Rhythms Of Natural Justice

Sprinkle of pollen dust – gold on dry grass,

wind blows soughing in all directions of time.

We sit on broken rocks and watch time pass.

One day a small tree gives birth to a lime

whose delicate white blossoms do infuse

the air with secrets never before heard.

In gosammer woman smiles like the muse

on her shoulder – an owl with a fuzzy beard.

His eyes sharp and clear miss nothing at all;

a child fallen by the road makes no sounds.

Owl starts a rhythmic hoot to sound the call,

catches ears of the sentry doing his rounds.

Sentry in blue hurries to small injured boy

bent bruised knee's layered with dusty pollen.

Murder of crows goes by eyeing a shiny toy;

boy's big brother arrives tends to knee swollen.

Grass straightens up – breathes gentle wind.

Daily folk go by loaded with stuff and bags

working to make the mark – none have sinned.

Some good lives are unnoticed – some are rags.

A raven rushes by whose eyes miss nothing.

Gleam on its wings are joyous sight for our eyes;

warm wind weaves whose gust lifts something.

Smiling woman recalls a moment and sighs.

Here rise grand rhythms of natural desire

whose movements re-weave joy of living beings.

See how Justice celebrates our love's tender fire;

goodness stirs, sustains our gaze with meanings.

Endless Journey To Beatitude

On a journey ever endless, we seek new vivid vistas

for the grand realization that rises that disappears

so suddenly – it should await our awakening – But no.

We turn by another broad brazen bend – it sinks below

clouds – We claim its harsh beauty and let bygones be.

We discover sudden dangerous curves so close, we sigh

with relief and remember to gauge ends of our cage – We

travelers must awaken from trance along life's curves

bends twists and turns – Are they not timely teachers to

slay our pride, to stir humility in our punctilious hearts?

O Friends! O Strangers! Be not foe nor strangle desires

We have as yet long arduous journeys to smartly joust

toward fulfillment of our destiny of different flavors.

Herein is the joy of reaching our goal – to rest in arms of

Love's sacred luminous seat of beatitude. Blissed eternity.
