MARIA A MIRAGLIA

He Harmonist

The Harmonist up there

created a special score

of sounds

giving rise to the earthly harmony

in each pentagram

a multitude of sounds

from soft to hard

only be willing to see

and listen

When a flower blooms

it unfolds its petals in the sun

to tell you to greet

a new day with a smile

and if a sunset appears

on the horizon

it's inviting you

to admire beauty

and fill your heart

with childish happiness

But if the sky is crying and

its drops soaking you

to the core

It's because it wants to ask you

to shake off your fears

and shout out loud to the world

let there be peace

with all the voice

you have in your throat

even if everyone else around

like devils emerged from hell

are calling for war

 What Was It For

Even among the most deafening noises

you can feel its call

you know you don't want to go

but you also know it's an invitation

that you are not allowed to decline

you think then

of what you would like

to bring with you

what does not matter

to you to abandon

but even more

you ask yourself

what it was for

crossing this world

beautiful and mysterious

How many times

have you looked up

into the sky

and wondered about the stars

shining like pearls

or sitting on a rock

in front of the sea

thought of the earth

suspended in space

almost feeling a sense

of dizziness

Useless thoughts

like similar others

like migratory birds

have crossed your mind

now you find yourself sick and old

to remember those moments

and you tell yourself

people have never had

the keys to open some doors

to grasp the meaning

of the immense

and of life itself
