I held out my palm

Praying for luck,

Nobody stopped.

It's just you

Touched my palm.

I felt the fire,

It burned inside me,

The sky hid the stars.

EVICA KRALJIĆ was born on February 18, 1952. She lives in Croatia. She writes haiku, poetry; so far she has published five books of poetry and a collection of war stories. Her novels have been published in magazines, and her poetry has been published in joint collections. Some of her songs have been set to music. She received a number of awards for her work.
