The Voice Of The Almighty

 

Where the pines

rise

like gothic towers

knitting open-work clouds

with needles

 

The streams sing

the poetry of mountains

the wind sows longing

 

and Angels

untie knots of

resinous fragrances

 

There in deep silence

with the most tender voice

you tell me God

about simple things

 

Głos Wszechmocnego

 

Tam gdzie sosny

wznoszą się

jak gotyckie wieże

iglicami dziergając

ażurowe obłoki

 

Potoki śpiewają

poezję gór

wiatr sieje tęsknotę

 

a Anioły

rozwiązują węzełki

żywicznych zapachów

 

Tam w głębokiej  ciszy

najczulszym głosem

mówisz mi Boże

o rzeczach prostych 

 

The Cross

 

Inscribed in the greyness

of crossroads

clothed itself

with a mossy cloak

 

The wounds

of a cast iron Christ

are dripping with rust

 

The ones weary by the seed of faith

are passing Him by

 

And He remains

in the majesty of suffering

- the Signpost -

of the vestibule of heaven

rozstajnej drogi

Okrył się

omszałą opończą

 

Rany

żeliwnego Chrystusa

broczą rdzą

 

Mijają Go strudzeni

ziarnem wiary

 

A On w majestacie

cierpienia trwa

The Book Of Life

 

In the book of destiny

God marked out a way for me

where I find His trace

at every step

 

The road goes across

the suspension bridge

over the abyss of hell

I persistently pass over

the levels of suffering

and falls

 

Księga życia

 

W księdze przeznaczenia

Bóg wytyczył mi drogę

na której co krok

odnajduję Jego ślad

 

Droga prowadzi

przez wiszący most

nad przepaścią piekła

Z uporem pokonuję

szczeble cierpień

i upadków

 

 

KRYSTYNA GRYS

 

KRYSTYNA GRYS: She was born and still living in Leszno. She attended the Jan Amos Komenski Pedagogical High School in Leszno. Krystyna Grys published 11 volumes of lyric poetry, 3 volumes of epigrams, 1 volume of limericks and 9 volumes of poems for children. Her poems were published in various almanacs and translated to a few foreign languages. Krystyna Grys received two awards of the Mayor of Leszno, the Maria Konopnicka Literary Award, the Klemens Janicki Literary Award and the Tadeusz Micinski “Phoenix” Award. Medal "For a Heart for Culture". She is a member of the Polish Writers Association in Poznan and the Culture Creators Society of Leszno. She has meetings in kindergartens, schools, the Senior Clubs.

 

KRYSTYNA GRYS: Urodziła się i mieszka w Lesznie. Uczęszczała do Liceum Pedagogicznego im. Jana Amosa Komenskiego w Lesznie. Krystyna Grys opublikowała 11 tomów poezji lirycznej, 3 tomy fraszek, 1 tom limeryków oraz 9 tomów wierszy dla dzieci. Jej wiersze zostały opublikowane w różnych almanachach I przetłumaczone na kilka języków obcych. Krystyna Grys otrzymała dwie nagrody Prezydenta Miasta Leszna, Nagrodę Literacką im. Marii Konopnickiej, Nagroda Literacka Klemensa Janickiego i Nagroda im. Tadeusza Micińskiego „Phoenix”. Medal „Za Serce dla Kultury”. Jest członkiem Związku Literatów Polskich w Poznaniu oraz Stowarzyszenia Twórców Kultury w Lesznie. Ma spotkania w przedszkolach, szkołach, klubach dla seniorów, bibliotekach .
