WELCOME

OUR POETRY ARCHIVE

Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood”----T. S. Eliot

Poetry is one of the powerful medium to communicate with the readers.  It communicates with people and time, nature and soul. The forms may differ but the essence remains the same and powerful if the creator can express his or her talent with proper dignity and elegance. Therefore, poetry is one of the best medium for this purpose. The primary obligation of a poet is to communicate with his or her readers. To broaden the canvas of their vision as well as feelings for both the life as a conscious being and people and time in general. Poetry is born if and only if one can achieve this.

As we are working in the literary field with poetry, it is our way of expression to disclose our emotions and sympathies with others. Poetry without sympathy can never touch human souls with emotion. Poetry without emotion can never move human souls with sympathy. Yet only the emotional poetry may bore us soon. Therefore, to preserve the emotions with sympathy in expressing poetic talents requires great skill. If only we can master this skill only then we can be able to reach more hearts with our poetical creative brilliances. In addition, even this skill requires deep philosophical insights with spiritual realizations of eternity. Only then, a poet can communicate with a greater audience.

Now what is genuine poetry? Poetry is not playing with words at all. Poetry is the expression of life. Poetry gives us the true meaning of our existence as human being. Not that, our life depends on literature or poetry. Any one of us can survive and even thrive, in our materialistic life; without even building up any relations with literature or poetry as a whole. We all know that it is quite possible. However, literature can never survive without establishing any direct relation or having any affinity with life as a whole. Therefore, we understand that literature depends on our life. Moreover, our life is full of sufferings pains and despair. Our life is also full of hopes and of infinite possibilities. It is in constant flux of good and evil, hope and despair, confusion and belief. So how can we deny all these in our inner soul? How can we just play with words for the sake of literature forgetting everything?

Therefore, Poetry demands human compassion. Without which poetry becomes just jumble of dead words, void, a lifeless entity. Who would like to read that poem which is just a formation of words and sound without any true soul? In addition, to bring out that soul in our poetry we need to establish a direct relation with our surroundings, with our present time with human compassion. Do you think keeping yourself insulated from the present world would bring that soul in your writing? I am afraid, that is not possible at all.

So keeping ourselves insulated from the human sufferings, from the tragedies of political events; even if we try to be creative in literary field, all our creativity will be lifeless without any true soul within. Nobody would recall our poetical brilliance for a second time after going through that sort of caricature of poetry devoid of true soul. Moreover, to bring out that true soul in our literary creativity we have to be compassionate enough not only to feel for the sufferer but also to find out the true causes of the Evils that prevail in the everyday domain of our world. This is the responsibility of a true poet. Not that, our poetry will change the world, yet it can be reflective of our time and situation in a true manner. Where, reader can find a true soul, which can communicate with its time and sufferings.

Poetry with this true soul is the genuine poetry, which can communicate with its readers even before it is understood. Here lies the true strength of poetry.

Alas, most of the poetical activities of our present time fall short of this benchmark. As we have lost our compassions, our sympathies. As we are too busy with our own, self interests. As we have started believing only in materialistic development of our personal life. We like to publish books in our names. We like the literary fame and celebration of personal goals. We thrive for individual achievements. So, most of our literature and poetry of the present time have lost their true soul of humanity. Therefore, it remains no more communicative in the true essence.

Should we then stop writing or reading poetry? Certainly not. We should only keep all these true and essential facts in our mind before embarking upon writing poetry. I think, it would obviously help us to focus on our own skill and develop it in its true manner. And if we can achieve this, I do believe our poetry would be able to communicate with our audience more spontaneously and more profoundly. More over it would help us to uphold the essence of genuine poetry as had been advocated by T. S. Eliot.

So dear friend we at Our Poetry Archive is constantly trying our level best to march forward towards this line of activities with honesty and integrity. After the successful publication of the OPA Anthology of Poetry 2019: ‘Spirit of Nature’, we are here with yet another monthly number of Our Poetry Archive, September 2019: V-5 N-6. GIVEN WORD

Promised each other,
Always be together.
Walking around with pleasure,
During the rain and snow...

What was happened suddenly,
Thunder was happened, or land was   splited
Or  , stones falling from the sky,
Was closed    ...  our ways....

Be silent, don't talk ...
Don't tire yourself in vain
It was empty echo...
Given word, during years.

World - is frail world...
And human is a guest...
Don't promise , if you didn’t  it ...
Follow  ... what was given...

WHO SUFFERED FROM GRIEF ...
 HE WILL  UNDERSTAND IT

Trouble, grief, sorrow, sadness
No wonder, that  we met
Being younger or older,
It does not matter...
Who suffered from grief ...
He will understand it.
Give respite me ,  oh my grief ...
At least, give me time ,
For grief, ...  trouble
... Sadness   and sorrow...
Thinking on ... every time...
Was said  ... grief, sorrow, sadness
What are they   ... at last
Then I understood that
Who suffered from grief...
He will understand it .
Now ,I am face by face with you ,
You took my life...
Took my hope out...
Enough give respite me
To be alone with my grief,
Then would understand also...
What are grief, sorrow ,sadness ...
And...this is reality ...
Who suffered from grief...?
He will understand it .

SMILE ...OH  MY SOUL ...

Oh my soul, smile ,  you...
Fate didn't smile, smile ,  you
If you would smile ,
Would smile my grief and sorrow.
Let my  suffering would dissapeared
With your smiling, soul.
Oh my soul , smile ,  you...
After   forgotten   years,
Seeing you smile,
My cold   glance,
Would be smile also.
Smile ... oh my soul
Your smile will erase...
Grief and sorrow.
Your smile would appended the  joy
To my grief and sorrow .
You know ,  it isn't on  my power .
I'm attached to your smiles,
If my soul be smiling,
So , fate will smile too ...

GARDEN OF PARADISE
WITHOUT YOU

Looking around myself
I see the Garden of Paradise.
I see the nightingale
Singing in this garden

Seeing flowing waterfalls ,
Rows of mountains and thick forests
I ask from forests...
I don't see beloved, where are?

Rose my , my beloved ,
Healing my grief, where are you?
Morning would not come, without you
Luminous face, where are you?

I don't bear to the parting
I wait, don’t tired of ,
I don't walk garden without you
My deer , where are you?

MOTHER

With your existence
I appeared in the world
I grew up, became an adult
You rejoiced with these days
My every step,
Every my  word ...
This was means for you
You were delighted with me
Months passed ... years passed
But I thought  that , moment was passed
May be you are tired of me ,
But I didn't tired from you.
Without sunrise,
Without smile of sun
Your smile frozed....
But I didn't tired of this smile
Dear mother, my soul mamy,
Every morning, when I looked you
Were smiling my eyes and soul
But this morning I couldn't smile
I was glad for every day
But on this day, I couldn't rejoiced

SHIPWRECKS IN RED
To:  my beloved angel

Red murmur
inquires - resigns
postponed silences
on  the sounds
of your soul.

Red suggestion
of blacked venules
tempest - stilled
liquids trees;
bleed their roots
on shipwrecks of words
and autumn leaves.
Will be carbuncle the  love?

Water night
pigmented scarlet,
foam gales
on the edge
raspberry and mint
defining your shadow;

Converges
on moon´s reef
incandescent light snow
pouring
on the tremulous
ruby from your lips.

ONLY LOVE WILL PREVAIL
To my Darling: M.B. with love.

Only love will prevail
When there is nothing left,
When memory  fades away
As scattered dust
On the wind.

Only my words will speak
Of this love
leaving a footprint
In silence,
To posterity…
For other times.
When my simple name
Be erased over time
And the words remain
over withered leaves.

Only my love for you will prevail
In your skin of verse,
In your skin of rhyme,
On your prose skin ...
Forever and beyond
the eternity borders.

INSIGHTS

Taciturn I roam
in the sterile
fury of delirium,
carry my words
as single luggage.

Behind me…
Drive my inconclusive
dreams, pain,
blind nostalgia.
Diluting rain
concentrating
my footsteps.

The wind recounts
it´s story.
I wait for
the glaring spikes
on diaphanous voices,
coated with infinity.

BACK TO POETRY
THUNDERSTRUCK

Oh words at last.
and I can see them coming.

Oceans of them, swell
to fall on the screen

and I feel dazed, blinded,
for I haven't seen them

so many, in a long time.
A whirlwind of words rise,

snaring and scowling
freshly free from the

sleepy cage of my mind.
Words lulled to sleep by

those calming strokes of life.
It took a clap of a thunder

to bring them to a wakefulness,
much-awaited and longed for.

The thunder has fire in it
and as I burn inside

the smoke of words
crowd and cloud my screen

evoking stinging tears
that smoke can bring.

I garland the onslaught
of words, a bride-in- waiting.

THE STORY OF A GLACIER

Icicles of some frozen memories
in the ocean of time,
turns to a glacier--
stately, sombre, mountain-like,
fathomlessly deep,
feeling the dark body of the ocean
with a helpless desperation
that only a glacier can feel.

It catches in the prism of its chest,
the frolic of the sunlight
and the smile of the moon.
it sings the song of silence,
and sheds its tears
in the breast of the sea.

Wakefully alert with
the memory of a wreck,
it prays for ships to steer past it
and not write again
the story of going asunder.

THE TRIUMPH OF BEAUTY

The waves break into the shore.
The frothy joys make their way
deep into the hearts of sands
keeping it wet forever.

Wet sands sculpt a loving face,
a beautiful home,
before being washed away
by the ageless sea.

For a brief while,
beauty wins the round
against the might of eternity.
