You Will Soon Be Involved In Many
Gatherings And Parties.
Each day I sent out invitations to myself,
each time requesting a RSVP,
and if I didn’t reply,
I refused myself from attending.
The theme of the today’s party,
feeling the blues,
where everything I wear is in blue.
The theme of tomorrow’s party,
cleaning the house,
where I will hand out the cleaning supplies,
and those attending, providing the muscle.
The theme of the gathering after that,
a peace rally, where I pray for the world,
or give you a piece of my mind.
It does not matter who else comes,
I am use to being alone,
and quite comfortable in my solitude.
An outing is planned for each day of the month,
whether or not anyone joins me,
and if you happen to find out about one of these gatherings,
you are more than welcomed to join in,
but be forewarned,
you will be the life of the party.
An Unexpected Payment
Is Coming Your Way
Maybe Publisher’s Clearing House was
informing me that I had won their sweepstakes,
that I was set for life,
but I guess one had to register with them to be considered,
and no way did I want my inbox bombed
with all their email notices trying to entice me
into purchasing one of their products.
Then again, it could have been the repayment of a loan
my wife and I made to a relative long ago,
but after twenty years, that seem highly unlikely,
though I still had it on my list of assets
I planned on donating to a charity in my will.
Maybe it still had a chance of being repaid,
either on the second Tuesday of the week,
or on the thirty-second day of the month,
whichever one came first.
But with my luck,
it is most likely coming from the March of Dimes,
sending me a letter in the mail
with a dime stuck inside the mailer
hoping I would send them a donation.
A payment was made, and I kept the dime,
but the larger payment went the other way
as far as my pocketbook was considered.
