 Today you opened your eyes,

 And it may not be the best day, but a better one will come,

 Perhaps you grieve and suffer bitterly,

 But it's time for you to really understand.

 

 Life is not a fairy tale that everything should be perfect,

 Nor can you count on all men,

 It's important not to lose yourself,

 And to awaken the power that lives within you.

 

 And hey, be strong,

 Ignore other people's opinions,

 Live your life, embrace happiness,

 If they turn their backs on you, let them turn…

 

 You were not born to wander through the valleys of pain,

 You love but you also deserve to be loved,

 So travel with light steps wrapped in the silk of love,

 Whoever doesn't want to travel with you, forget about you.

 

For You, Woman

 

 You are a wife, mother and queen,

 a fighter and at all times a lioness,

 always there for others and where are you?

 Before you answer, think carefully.

 

 You have interests in your life that,

 many don't even notice it,

 but you know all that well,

 and therefore think, dear, think of yourself.

 

 If you are not well yourself,

 if you are not good as a woman, a lady and as a mother,

 if all the burden falls on your back,

 don't you think it's time to change something right now...

 

 Do a little something every day,

 just for yourself, to put a smile on your face,

 to become aware of the value you carry,

 and to be proud of yourself for a reason.

 

 Dear woman, you who love life,

 do not lose yourself because of too great a sacrifice,

 take care of yourself because this world needs you

 you are a true gift and blessing from heaven.

DANIJELA ĆUK: The author's name is Danijela Ćuk, she was born on May 25, 1989 in Vukovar and lives in Čavle (Croatia). The author writes poetry and prose and has so far published three independent collections of poetry and participated in over 30 joint collections of poetry. Her poetry has been published in numerous international magazines and portals and has been awarded numerous diplomas and awards. In addition to writing, the author also volunteers in an association for children with developmental disabilities. All proceeds from the sales of her collections have gone to humanitarian purposes so far.
