Moments Of Life

 

Moments of life drip

unconscious drops

of happiness.

They fall on my heart

and hold the most beautiful

poetry of my soul.

Then, a second later,

in a thousand pieces,

they crash against the inevitable

vicissitudes of existence.

 

ATTIMI DI VITA.

 

Attimi di vita stillano

gocce inconsapevoli

di felicità.

Cadono sul mio cuore

e trattengono la più bella

poesia della mia anima.

Poi, un secondo dopo,

in mille pezzi,

si schiantano contro le inevitabili

vicissitudini esistenziali.

Poetry is the internal fire

of emotions

that suddenly explodes

in the soul and reveals itself

in words and verses,

reaching,

with its emotional warmth,

the hearts of others.

 

FUOCO INTERIORE DEL POETA.

 

Poesia è il fuoco

interno d’ emozioni

che esplode, all’improvviso,

nell’anima e si palesa

in parole e versi,

raggiungendo,

con il calore emotivo,

il cuore altrui.

 

CONCETTA LA PLACA

 

CONCETTA LA PLACA: Concetta La Placa is an Italian poet, writer and aphorist. Born in Sicily, she has lived in Rome since 2006. She is married, mother of two children and grandmother of three grandchildren. She has worked as a ministerial official in the Social Policies sector (Childhood and Adolescence and the Fight against Poverty) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. As of 1 April 2024, she took early retirement. She started writing and composing poetry at the age of 15. Today, she is present on the international poetry scene because she has published her poems and various short stories (some of which are also dedicated to children) in numerous prestigious anthologies of various national and international contemporary authors.
