Stark
the walls of my
heart are bombed out...
the chambers
crumbling...
the flamingoes
once so pink...
so warm and
abundant...
have left...
leaving empty
spaces...
it took too long
for the shudder of earthquakes to stop their tremble...
for waves of
tsunamis to crash....
the marshlands
of my thoughts look bleak and stark...
fog drapes their
unseasonal grey descent...
the terror of
emptiness and loss
drift like dust
after a war
ash settles on
the icebergs of hopes...
on twigs of
buds...
on green
grass...
on our
laughter...
silence without
sound... screams...
gasps...
gravel in the
mouth...
throat dry...
filled with shock and gagging...
opium shocked
unblinking...
eyes ...
slowly go
blind...
unwilling to see
the truth...
grief so intense
is landlocked...
in a grave no
one can reach...
I struggle to
unlove...
remove the
layers of silk scarves...
filled once with
joyful blossoms of emotions...
was it easy for
you to turn the chapter...
talk of love now
as an era of hatred....
let time change
tunes...?

An Awakening
the first hello
as dawn slips in
through the
indigo silk duvet covers of night
wriggling her
toes
stretching
voluptuously
blushing pink...
wild hair with
burnished tints...
in a riot of
playfulness
she stretches
her arms and striped pajamas..
tossing clouds
happily
digging into
them
filling them
with
potlis of
embroidered gold...
lining them with
thin chains of richness....
setting them
afloat
with promised
wishes...
memories burn
here in the hearth
like glowing
embers
as on a journey
they cruise and
float
I grow
accustomed
to joy
spreading…
like melted
golden butter on toast
aeons of old
delectable comfort
merging with
excitement of youth
bringing new
promises
a sky set ablaze
burning deep
introspection and
carefree new
longings...
therapeutic
excitement...
a carpet of
brilliant colours...
a sun awakening…
another new
dawn.
