O my Inspirer,

You came in silence, with the awe of a saint,

And the light around you guides your steps,

As if time itself had condensed

To bring me to you

In a cosmic moment.

 

I was not searching for you,

Yet you are the love that sought me

In the city of Baghdad,

And I found you before me—

A lover, a musician, an artist,

As if the universe had inscribed your name

In the layers of my soul

Even before I was reborn.

 

You ask me: Who are you?

And I am nothing but a wandering poetess

Between earth and sky,

Tracing the features of truth in your eyes,

Reading your emotions through your enchanting fingers,

Where my love for you was born

From the pulses of your melodies.

 

Thus begins my story with you, O Ambassador,

And in the end, my sun rose

In the House of the Saint.

You are the one I contemplated existence for, seeking it

And you appeared before my eyes in the city of love

And your light manifested in its surroundings

 

You are the breeze of life

At the rising of the sun

I hear the whispers of your melodies

that reveal the secret of eternity

 

And when we met in your school,

where I learn music

You left no secret in my heart hidden

For you entered it without permission

And I searched for a place for you within it

Until it became a gift for you,

a vow that cannot be reclaimed

 

So have mercy on my soul

For you are like it: water, light,

and a secret extending from the beginning of existence

And be gentle with my heart, for you reside within it

I hid you in its depths so that it may be a home

and sanctuary for your secrets

 

Take me to you… even if only a shadow inhabits your spirit

Take me to you… I want to be a witness of this living love

And for you to be with me, present and a witness

Make me immune from committing mistakes

Clinging to our inevitable fate that God will unite us

 

For love is the throne of God in the hearts of the knowing

And whoever God chooses and loves

His light appears in the east and west of the earth
