Returning To Shine
Be the roar of a
wave
that faces the
storm,
and the might of
wind
that masters the
tempest,
to return to
shining
on the crests of
the sea.

I have seen
dreams
crumble in
memory
like rough-hewn
stones
under the scorch
of an arid sun,
rivers run
dry
whose surging
waters once roared,
wild and
abundant
with thoughts
never concealed,
wind and storm
hit
against the
mightiest peaks
until even the
deepest roots
of principles
are torn away.
And yet,
stubbornly,
still flutters
that wingbeat
within the chest—
a surviving
frenzy
to catch life by
surprise.
