RAJASHREE MOHAPATRA

O' My Blue Bird...

Now each new day revives an old story

Of longings, wishes, and wild desires.

Thoughtful souls still sigh

And lock their lips while trying to retire.

O' my blue bird, memories are always clutched

Between Peace and War, like debris of dreams.

A feeling of lifelessness and stray thoughts

Run parallel to set the nets where shadows are trapped.

O' my blue bird,

Do you still feel like singing

The melodies of your youthful days?

Do you still feel like playing hide and seek with the weaves?

You will definitely like to meet your beloved

On the promised bank.

You will of course love his whispered words,

And the gentle breeze that stirs the leaves of his heart.

The moonless sky will be a cradle

To hold you in a tight embrace,

While dew will calm your thirst of craving for an union.

You shall reign over the universe,

And no one will take your world away.

An Immortal Friend Of Mine ...

Time sleeps beneath the feet.

Yesterday is lying dead,

While tomorrow not born yet,

There rules a hope that today is sweet.

You are a friend,

A reflection of the divine in a

Unique incarnation.

You guide me, stand by me

While I navigate through rough terrain.

Now each of our meeting here

Spreads auspicious feelings,

Bringing us close to ourselves,

In each other's company.

With a brighter moon of fellowship,

Our sky looks more divine.

Every second is celebrated

As a sacred pilgrimage over spilling time.

Each pulse within us insists

On reminding us of the divinity of heart

And the nectar of life to spread all over.
