VIOLETA KADRIU

What Are You, Really, My Poetry

To know, poetry, what you are to me

I must open the gates of my soul and see you inside them,

if I want to smell your scent and understand

what color of the rainbow you are,

I must squeeze my veins and let them show me!

My poetry, you are the rebel

who tells my sleep to go away every night,

just to have me always by your side,

you are my best lover,

the most steadfast and faithful,

who every time I call you to make love to me

you leave everything and rush into my bed!

You are the one, poetry,

who knows how to make me jealous the most,

you can get between two hearts

and you can make any couple a poet,

sometimes you know how to be a sharp knife,

one of those with two or more blades,

with rhymes, comparisons, metaphors

that unintentionally cuts you when you least expect it!

My poetry, you are the color of the red sky,

that kisses the sea and the vast sky,

how many times the Sun will set,

you are the God,

who resembles my Father and Mother,

who how many times I have laughed or cried,

they have hugged me deep in their bosom!

Poetry, you are the elixir of my soul,

that flows like heavenly wine

and the scent of the best perfume

in every month and season,

sometimes you know how to be nervous

and often combative,

if someone tries to violate

your most precious" Freedom"!

If God loved

he would leave fingerprints on our mouths,

but, it was He, the Supreme

who left them on our hands,

therefore, be careful who writes you poetry,

because the engraving on every stone is not a game,

for one wrong letter or sign

humanity remains without a head or "arms"!

My poetry is not for cowards,

my poetry is for the brave,

it is not like those leaves

that shake every time the wind blows,

it is for those who deserve,

in you breathe the most magical Values,

that even if the Apocalypse falls,

it cannot shake them!

Poetry, you are my key

that opens paths and doors for my soul,

and with the wings of Angels of Paradise

you can penetrate wherever you want,

you are my Birth, Life, Death

and you are my "REBIRTH",

that does not allow my golden literary stone

no, no never to exhaust me!

And If This World Goes On Fire

And if this world goes on fire

tonight, I want to get drunk,

I miss your master so much,

I will rest in the taste of red wine!

Let every flower and tree in this world shake its buds,

let the moon break its rays, stop shining,

tonight I want to become a slave to this full glass,

I will melt the ice of my soul in it!

I want to kiss the stars tonight,

because I am drinking so that everyone can feel it,

don't let my soul walk on the edge of a sword,

I don't even want to know!

Whoever told you “Red wine is bad",

you are for those who don't know how to drink it,

for such people, life on the road is a trap,

with or without drinking brandy!

Who told you “Wine you are ugly",

confess to me in confidence, who told you,

my heart with you should not remain chained,

leave the rest, do not break them!

I want to taste that grape nectar tonight,

like everyone else, without hurting anyone,

how much I love you I will fill glasses with wine,

don't let them call me an angel, oh devil!

I want to clink the glass with this springtime sizzle,

don't let them say "you are crazy",

I don't want anyone to take your place except this wine,

to sweeten this bitter soul!

Even if this world goes up in flames tonight,

I want to be, red wine, still your lover,

to resurrect two dead souls tonight,

let our lips and eyes be bathed in the red waterfall!
