Looking at Saint Elijah ascending to heaven in a chariot of
fire

Cancer
(Zodiac Sign)
One of the Queen of Heaven’s warriors,
Whose loyalty has no boundaries.
Always the first to follow her orders
Despite his peers helping the opponent.
He stung him on the foot
In an attempt to slow him down,
But his sharp claws were no match
For the hero’s size and stength.
Enraged he ended his life
In the blink of an eye.
Tears and honor his death brought
Into the eyes of his mistress.
One by one she picked the pieces,
Not leaving even the tiniest one behind.
Like fireflies they started to shine in her hands,
Then they slowly took flight into the heavens above
With the aid of the goddess’ breath.
A new constellation was created,
Thus the forth sign of the zodiac was added,
Now admired by gods and men.

Two Sisters
One stands tall to reach for the sun,
The other is satisfied to dazzle the public with her
simplicity
On the surface of the crystal waters of a humble pond.
L wore her indigo dress when she met her first love,
WL put on the red ball gown on her first date with Romeo.
Although their view on pink is different,
The sisters never let it ruin their friendship.
The love he felt for his goddess made Romeo
Protect her purity and innocence from admirers
With dark souls many times.
When sadness covers WL’s face with its veil,
L will always take it off with her sunny disposition.
With Mother Nature’s blessing,
The two sisters were chosen to represent
The lucky souls born on the hottest month of the year.

GHEORGHE
GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE: Born in a country with a wonderful
history, customs, traditions and culture, she’s a sensitive soul whom considers
writing as a way to express her untold feelings and opinions. She’s a
translator, but creative writing is one of the many hobbies she has. She has a
Bachelor’s Degree in the English Language and Literature – French Language and
Literature – Philology at “Spiru Haret” University of Bucharest, Faculty of
Letters – Bucharest (Romania) and a Master’s Degree in Translation and
Interpretation at “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galaţi (Romania). She competed
in a few national literary projects such as the “Poemele Toamnei” organized by
the “LUCEAFĂRUL” Literature Circle, Giurgiu, 2020 and international literary
championships such as the “European Poetry Championship”, Săcele, Brașov, 2020;
the “Special Valentine’s Day Prize” Literary Contest of Love Poetry, Italy,
2020 etc. She was awarded the “Preservation of Traditions Award” on September
2020 at the CULTURE PANDEMIC creative writing contest with the theme: “Culture
and Traditions” organized by the Writers’ League of Romania, Buzău office;
“First Place” at the „Writters Assembled 2020 August Writing Competition”;
„Second Prize” at the first edition of the „Romanian Talents” Interpretation
and Creation Festival, at the POETRY section, 2020; the „Diploma of Excellence”
at the first edition of the „Zbor spre desfrunzite stele” International
Festival, Săcele, Brașov, 2020 etc. She published poetry in various national
and international literary magazines and anthologies, and launched her first
bilingual poetry book “What is life?” on September 2019. She’s a member of
ARTLIT - Asociația Română a Traducătorilor Literari from February 15th, 2022
and of the World Literature Academy that is under the aegis of the Romanian
Cultural Centre in London from October 20th, 2020. Other than creative writing,
she likes to listen to music mostly classical, instrumental and soundtracks,
travel and navigate on the Internet.
