DONNA MCCABE

DONNA MCCABE

Glowing

You make my heart pound

And my soul glow

Spark passions of delicious delight

My spirit ascends

In the most intimate of embraces.

Secret Places

We store so much inside

We are all variable

In our hidden compartments

When dealing in matters of the heart.

Outburst

It was written all over her face

Everything she had been holding back

All those pent up feelings and emotions

It could be held back no longer

Like a damn bursting forth

It came gushing out

Verbally at first

Followed by tears of relief.

Prognosticate

Predictions foretold

Readings of many kinds

Outguessing the odds

Gauging the outcome of events

Needing to know the outcome

Omens of good and bad

Signals given from all around

To make known in advance

Indications of what lays ahead

Calculating the bonuses of this

Anticipating what will happen

The future is being read

Evaluating all he pros and cons.

Winter..

Wild weather and coldness descend

Icicles clinging abundantly all around

Naked trees and bushes swaying

To the winds will as snow

Erupts from the heavens slowly

Reverting a monochrome world to white.

December

Decorations and coloured lights

Excitement of coming festivities

Carols and family gatherings

Expectations of snowy days

Making snowmen, snowball fights

Baking smells wafting around the home

Enticingly tickling the senses

Rich in celebrations and memories.

DONNA MCCABE

DONNA MCCABE is an established poet with over 20 years’ experience whose vast variety of work has gained her multiple accolades within her field of literature. From being published in journals, magazines and anthologies as well as being a highly respected admin in multiple social media groups, her most recent works of merit would include The Writers and Readers' Magazine, Our Poetry Archive, Raven Cage Zine and featuring in a book published by Poetry Planet called Words in Motion and Who's who of Emerging Writers 2021. Donna's intricate wordplay displayed in her works has been personified by her past and concurrent experiences which include her hardships, trials and tribulations. All of which she has been accompanied by her loving husband of 24 years. Together they have raised three children in the picturesque valleys of the Rhondda, South Wales. Her lifetime admiration of reading and writing has steered her into a adventurous new direction of collaborations with an up and coming Canadian artist Alla Ilescu whose idiosyncratic mind and artistic works compliment the vivid images Donna's narrative works paint. These collaborations have resulted in a beautiful book of poetry and artwork entitled “Explosion Of Love” published on Amazon earlier this year.
