SOFIA SKLEIDA

Call To Mind

Dim the light of oblivion

The herb of thought contemplates dreamy paths

Festive lights flicker

in the moonlight courtyard

The cobbled streets conjure up vivid memories

The endless blue calms the lively vigor

The colorful horizon nods to the otherworldly

and ancestral legacy,

which, unlocking the hold of time,

evokes the rose scent of the past

Memory hedonistically contemplates…

Βlossom

You cut an olive branch

You called it life

You wove wreaths of hope

and you hung them on our crumbling walls

You mourned the lost dreams,

the hopes and

you prayed that they would not be lost

To be transformed into a source of joy,

 revival

You are tired of facing gray clouds

Gazing at shadows on the horizon

Now the sky is all yours

You stare at the sun and hum...

Anthestiria* came and Dionysus resplendent

celebrates...

* Is one of the four biggest festivals that took place every year in ancient Athens. These  celebrations held in honor of the god Dionysus. Although they started in Athens, due to their religious nature were also celebrated in other regions.

In Honour Of…

Holy the soil in the land of the Greeks

Hides the stars in the land of the God Ammon

The soul longs to experience the glorious memory

of the Macedonian soldier

Who united the peoples of three continents

Who tamed his innermost passions

to honor his homeland,

the soil of his ancestors

The morals of his enemies

Who kindly and humbly

praised the favor of the Gods,

Following you great master

Virtue and humility underpinned his vision

Enhanced his life

Worthy redefinition of life…
