RAJASHREE MOHAPATRA

Buds Of Love

Buds Of Love

Buds of love bloom in the eyes

When memories of spring take over

The delectable cactus

With dazed dreams and endorsing it's vine.

The soothing breath allows palpitation

May be with fear

Of disclosure of truth.

When the ripening yellow paddy fields around

Propagate the slow dying of everything with the passing of time.

The dawn with the mustard flowers,

And the evening with mango blossoms,

Narrate the story of pain

And sufferings

Where dews of tear-drops lament over

At the doorsteps on the lifeless living.

Silence reigns everywhere,

Memories germinate echoes of love

With a clinching climax,

The wind starts whispering to the night to glee and relax.

The stars from the azured sky nod with a hum,

Sanctioning reflections of divine love,

That appear unintelligible in the behold of the breezeless night

Whispering a melancholy in a different forum.

Dwelling Beyond Friction.

No more abounding in solitude,

Let's go back,

Oh, my love!

It's time that we should return home.

By this time,

The earthly fragrance

Circumventing the home and its courtyard

Must be wafting in the air,

And the pigeons nesting indoors

Must be waiting for us with eagerness.

The mustard flowers in the field

Must be spreading their golden hues,

While the singing bees must be humming in the courtyard.

Is it not appropriate

That we consider a quick return?

It can be a waste to linger in this abandoned isolation,

So let's choose going back home

And dwell smooth beyond any friction.
