RAJASHREE MOHAPATRA

A Heaven ...

Oh dear,

please call to mind,

Heaven is never searched in a distant star or in a celestial body.

Yet one finds it here on earth, as a peaceful shore,

A place to anchor and safe to breath.

Heaven is not a dream, my dear!

It exists in the waves of time,

That makes our love float like a wooden log,

Beyond any strokes of fear.

Here love's warms up the soul,

And refreshes the mind,

It is sought in one another's eyes,

And shines bright to turn blind.

Love is a flame that burns the passion,

And enhances the heart's beats,

That magnifies the emotion.

Oh dear!

Please remember

A gentle caressing touch,

Of course, makes free the soul of ambiguities,

And moments glow in each other's arms,

Rendering eternal delights.

Believe me, my dear,

A love that holds strong and forever in pace,

Grows deep beyond notice,

And time cannot wither it with a scornful cadence.

The Rain

O rain,

You descend from your heavenly abode

And enter into the earthly heaven

Where love and fraternity serve as life's code.

In every drop of yours,

A symphony of heartbeats sings louder,

Echoing life's rhythms.

The wild and free fragrances of this earthly soil

Create an ever-desired reverberations in the eardrums.

The rain-kissed petals on the withering stumps,

And green grasses in the valleys,

Remit you the love you share

with ungrudging affinity in ease.

Hearts get entwined in your late descendants,

Everyone consoles himself

With your unexpected and yet definite presence.

Life finds its way to germinate soon when every shower of yours,

Let’s love bloom.

Oh, my dear!

Love finds its way to grow and thrive, in every second, as life survives.
