SILVANA DIMITRIEVSKA

Homeland

Be my homeland.

To have a place to rest

when I wearily close my eyes

and dream of freedom.

To have a place where I will stop walking,

after sleepless nights of star-hunting.

To know where I can take my breath

and where my heart may can find a sanctuary.

Be my homeland.

Because, I don't have mine anymore.

They turned it into a lump of earth

and blew the wind into it to blow it away.

The birds gathered her from the dust of the earth.

I see them making a nest

upwards, towards the sky, highest in the heights.

Life

I often dream of you.

Sometimes we sit by the river

and have long, very long talks.

I’m absorbing every word of yours.

I eagerly desire to touch

every breath of the wind

that lifts your chest.

I'm getting into that rhythm.

The waves of the river are rushing.

Time stands.

Sometimes we run away.

Vast wide fields,

narrow city streets,

I hold your hand

afraid to let you go.

We run frantically non-stop,

we run away, chased by someone,

not knowing whom.

Sometimes we kiss for a long time.

Pink clouds float in the distance.

We are two moored ships

with one breath filling the sails.

The horizon is infinite.

Infinite is that blissful blueness.

I often dream of you.

In my dreams, life happens.

Awakening is a small unexpected death.
