CONCETTA LA PLACA

Better Days

It is snowing

and outside and inside our hearts

there is frost.

Like tiny stars,

white and light,

flakes fall

from the sky.

Suspended in the air,

they dance silently,

but the atmosphere

is sad.

Silent and still,

nature

in hibernation,

remains waiting.

Better days

will return

to this world.

GIORNI MIGLIORI

Sta nevicando

e fuori e dentro i cuori

c'è gelo.

Come piccole stelle

imbiancate e leggere,

cadono giù

fiocchi dal cielo.

In sospensione

danzano silenti,

ma triste

è l'atmosfera.

Ammutolita e silenziosa,

la natura

in letargo,

rimane in attesa.

Ritorneranno

in questo mondo

giorni migliori.

I Found You In Your Absence.

It is in your usual absence that I found you, after years of a long silence.

A day like any other, between day and night, in an imprecise moment, and now

you are here in my thoughts.

These are now stars that illuminate the night of my heart, where shadows flit in vain.

You are the presence and absence of a life never lived, but imagined, and reflected in a shard of a broken mirror.

There have been words spoken between us, but they fell on deaf ears, which, instead of bringing us closer, distanced us.

Now you are a ray of light refracted and obscured by shadows in the void between us that will never be cleared.

Ti Ho Ritrovato Nell’Assenza.
