The Season Of Childhood

 

I walk on the wheat field,

Thinking about the cheese pie

That my grandmother baked at the countryside

Just like her ancestors taught her.

 

I frisk and frolic on the big flowery meadow

Like a lamb on a sunny spring day.

I see a roebuck quenching his thirst at the river,

What joy is for my inner child to see it!

 

I hear the seagulls’ laughter at sea,

Urging me to let my thoughts flow.

I pay tribute to nature for her heroic fight,

I find memories of my childhood in every seashell.

 

I travel through worlds eager to explore,

I keep the fondest memories in my heart.

Time always seems to fly,

But I have time to play in the season of childhood.

The Mighty Whale

 

The biggest in the animal kingdom,

Doesn’t sit on the throne and give orders.

She swims along with her aquatic friends,

Admiring the Great Barrier Reef,

Hoping to teach men to admire the true beauty

That Mother Nature created.

 

A fate worse than death awaits those,

Those try to catch the Queen of the Seas.

She takes care of her offspring with love,

Only those that hear her song carefully,

Will know how she is truly feeling.

GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE: Born in a country with a wonderful history, customs, traditions and culture, she’s a sensitive soul whom considers writing as a way to express her untold feelings and opinions. She’s a translator, but creative writing is one of the many hobbies she has. She has a Master’s Degree in Translation and Interpretation at “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galaţi (Romania) and a Bachelor’s Degree in the English Language and Literature – French Language and Literature – Philology at “Spiru Haret” University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters – Bucharest (Romania). She competed in a few national literary projects such as the online poetic show „În Lumea Copilăriei”, Parfumul Clipei, May 2022 and international literary championships such as the thirteenth edition of the “Grigore Vieru – I’m grass, I can’t be simpler than this” International Creative Writing Festival under the aegis of the International Literature and Art Academy and the “Apollon” Cultural Society of Romania in 2025 etc. She won Third Prize at the “Homage to Women” Poetry Contest organized by the Romanian Writers’ League, the “Ioan Slavici” Office Arad, founded by Mirela Minuța Alexa, March 2025 etc. She published poetry in various national and international literary magazines and anthologies, and launched three bilingual poetry books: “Philosophical Poems” on December 23rd, 2022, “The Chest of Life” on 2021 which is the second edition of “What is life?” that was published on September 2019. She’s a member of the Romanian Writers’ Society from January 28th, 2025 and of ARTLIT - Asociația Română a Traducătorilor Literari from February 15th, 2022 and of the World Literature Academy that is under the aegis of the Romanian Cultural Centre in London from October 20th, 2020. Other than creative writing, she likes to listen to music mostly classical, instrumental and soundtracks, travel and navigate on the Internet.
