I Rejoice In Every New Morning

 

 I rejoice in the chirping

 of the birds,

 which makes my heart flutter

 I rejoice in the dawn

 and the first ray of sunlight

 which gently caresses me,

 waking me from sleep.

 I rejoice in the new day that gives me a new chance

 to finish what I started and the unfinished.

 To start something new

 with the new day

 that gives me a new chance.

 Every morning I want to hear, The chirping of the birds,

 the dawn and the first ray of sunlight

 to seize both that day

 and every next one,

 by God's grace, may such mornings multiply

 a new morning, a new hope, a new chance...

 

 I Will Wait Until Our Reunion

 

 I walked quietly along the path to the place

 where i first met you

 because it had meaning.

 Love was born.

 I wanted to meet you so much,

 I was looking forward to meeting you again...

 The bench we sat on

 had long been lonely.

 You were gone

 and I visited it every day with hope.

 My soul hungered for you,

 my heart throbbed, seeking your warm embrace..

 the tender kisses

 the swaying of your sincere words poured from the heart.

 Empty...

 I sat alone in the darkness, without a warm embrace, without kisses, without words....

 Silence and silence.

 Here and there the cry of a night bird.

 And yet I sat because it meant something to me,

 from the very bench some light radiated that

 warmed me just like when you were with me.

  As if I were in your embrace,

 you caressed me, giving me tender kisses.

 You were not here, but you were in me.

 I still carry you in my heart with the hope of meeting again.

 Hope and faith will be my companions until we see each other again,

reunited.

MILKA MINKOVA poet and writer. Born in 1956 in Kavadarci. She writes poetry and prose for children and adults. Her first book, Poetry for Children "Plait of Strands" received the RABINDRANAT Tagore Award in 2021. The same award for her entire work in 2022 she received the same award from "Motivational Ribbons" and in 2023 she was again decorated with the same award again for her entire work, for promoting peace and well-being among the peoples of the world. She is a top collaborator in several world groups. Her own independent books of poetry, numerous anthologies by several authors.  Independent collections: Braid of Strands" 2019 out of print... The others are not yet out of print although they were awarded second prize at the international competition of Data Pesnopoj - Bitola, Macedonia.
