Love, Tell Me
Love, tell me
why you taste so bitter,
Do not laugh,
don’t mock me either.
You burn the
heart with hidden fire,
Not lust you
know, but soul’s desire.
Do not deceive
me, calling sweet,
Your tales are
lies, your dreams deceit.
Even the false
one, sworn and vain,
Still speaks
your name through love and pain.
You are not love
that lives forever,
You are a test,
a game so clever.
Those who dare
to play your part,
You leave them
broken, scarred at heart.
Their eyes grow
sick of looks and words,
Of gentle lies
and truth that hurts.
Of bitter days,
of nights gone wrong,
Of weak made
right, of right made wrong.
They call you
“care,” they call you grace,
But truth is
clear — you lie with face.
Sweet dream,
sweet ache, sweet deep delusion,
You stay, you
bind, a soft confusion.
And yet I know,
though false you seem,
You still are
needed — love’s extreme.
