Candle In The Heart
In this
monotonous and mundane life.
The candle in my
heart lights up again and again
At the song of a
nightingale,
At the rustling
of leaves in the sweet breeze,
At the fragrance
of flowers.
In this
complicated and routine life.
The candle in my
heart is kindled
By the gurgling
laughter of a child,
By friends who
reach out
By strangers who
become friends
In this ordinary
and vanilla life.
The candle in my
heart is fired up
At the happiness
of my child.
At the beauty of
the wild
At the love in
my loved one’s eyes.
A Love Poem
I sat down to
write a love poem.
The feather
quill in my hand quivered.
I contemplated
on which love to write about.
The love of an
innocent child who smiles at me
Every morning
when I walk in the garden?
The love of my
pet who looks at me with wide eyes
And eats from my
hand relishing each morsel?
The love of my
grown up child who hugs me
Every morning
while going off to work?
The love of my
spouse who doesn’t express his love in words
But every action
of his, every thought of his screams of love?
The love of my
friends near and far
Reaching out and
showering love when I need them?
The love of my
parents who are no more
Who gave all
they had to bring me up?
The love of
Nature which makes the surrounding beautiful
The trees, the
flowers, the birds and the bees?
And love of the
Almighty
Who is always
there to take me forward and keep me safe?
