Failure Is Opportunity In Disguise.

 

Failing a class in school

only to pass it the following year.

 

Getting lost in a maze

but finding a way back out.

 

Poems rejected by one journal,

then sent out again with hopes of acceptance.

 

A job once held, eliminated,

requiring a search for another.

 

Losing a race at a track meet,

only to run again at the next meet.

 

Slipping and falling down on the ice,

then getting back up.

 

Once caught speeding on the city street,

then enjoying a ticket free drive, the next time.

 

Life mysteriously continues as each one

on earth is given a second chance.

 

It’s A Good Thing That Life Is Not As Serious

As It Seems To The Waiter.

 

 

I guess it helped that I wasn’t a waiter,

one who could sit back and relax

when going out to eat at a restaurant,

hoping our waiter was one of the best

at greeting each of us,

 

telling us about the specials of the day,

bringing us our drinks, our dinner,

asking if everything was okay,

and if we wanted dessert.

We wished to enjoy ourselves as we dined out,

 

watching our waiters keeping very busy,

trying their hardest, hoping to get that magic tip,

and as we left our table,

their wish would come true

as we laid down a generous fortune before them.
