JUANITA
GARCIA VERA
MIRROR OR WINDOW?
The window opens to expose
And awesome view
Spring has come around
The sky sweet baby blue
While trees embrace
Your dreams
That grow on branches
Stretching far beyond
Envisioned schemes
While In the earth, they move
Those wiggly worms ingesting,
Mulching, making fertile soil
There one day you will be
To be recycled into the land
And sea
Distracted, you search
As you look in the mirror
To find the carnal you
Look not long into the mirror,
It’s a distorted illusion
By which all is measured
Look instead, to the window
A world waits
Your deprived eyes
Your search has ended
Your soul is replenished
God speaks softly
Listen intently
He whispers beautifully
In the song of the nightingale
Sit quietly, HIS love echoes
In the breeze, like music
In your heart
Love is eternal
It grows unrestrained
Through the window
Of your soul
The window opens to expose
And awesome view
Spring has come around
The sky sweet baby blue
While trees embrace
Your dreams
That grow on branches
Stretching far beyond
Envisioned schemes
While In the earth, they move
Those wiggly worms ingesting,
Mulching, making fertile soil
There one day you will be
To be recycled into the land
And sea
Distracted, you search
As you look in the mirror
To find the carnal you
Look not long into the mirror,
It’s a distorted illusion
By which all is measured
Look instead, to the window

God speaks softly

Through the window
Of your soul
