DEENETTE CAMPER

DEENETTE CAMPER

SHIELDED

He brings me warm sunshine
when life's anguish bells toll;
He's got the gift of fervor in his soul.
My mind was in puzzled pieces
til he nursed me whole;
He used his tranquil ways
just to nurse me whole.

When someone feels right
I try hard to conceal it.
I don't want to reveal it;
So, I don't let it show.
'Cause heartbreak's a knife
and it's inclined to bleed me;
These thoughts will impede me
from such an incredible life.
But, I won't....
I won't get bled or smothered in strife!

He's like a shield of armor
that glance arrow's piercing tips;
Still, I can't let emotion spill from my lips.
'Cause I've built a shield around me
that no one can see;
He'd need a hundred years
to get that close to me.

When someone feels right
I try hard to conceal it.
I don't want to reveal it;
So, I don't let it show.
'Cause heartbreak's a knife
and it's inclined to bleed me;
These thoughts will impede me
from such an incredible life.
But, I won't ....
I won't get bled or smothered in strife!

WORDS CORPOREAL

Tongues whip, they lash
cause welts, will trash
believed worth, once held
sharp words, impelled
trust and unchallenged doubts
you're better off without.
Words from tongues of swords
bleed you dry as drought

Words pierce, I've felt
stabs often dealt.
But, if your words are true,
I will bleed for you
under a panther's paws
that bites with jagged jaws
as words are corporeal
and a predator with claws

If you speak with ruthlessness
merciless, so venomous
you'll wrought rot in yourself no less
than they rot in me

Words can make false truth
I know, I'm living proof.
Words that spurred with spite
bore demons in the night
clutching at my heart
tearing it apart
leaving me aloof
lonely since my youth

FALL'S MOON

October's full moons pumpkin the placid Autumn sky
looming large as fire's glare, that cosmic basketball
that spies the Earth like a giant Tokay gecko eye
while breezes kiss goose bumped skin with excitement of Fall

Trees are wrapped in a quilt of myriad coloration
various shades of reds, golds, apricots, tans and browns;
A spectacular spectacle throughout Fall's duration
before frozen winds of Winter make their scheduled rounds

Though every season has wonders of their very own,
the brilliance of Fall, before her death, ends way too soon.
Like diamond's glisten, freshly fallen snow, stars shone;
Still, nothing's quite as beautiful than a Fall's full moon!
