SOUL’S RELEASE
You will know of
truths
They scrape your
cells
You will feel the
whir,
The adagio of
their tailwind,
Touching you like
a
Myriad of pearled
feathers
Ancient whispers
Awakened noumenon
Fabric opening of
cognition
Sanguine moments,
stilled
Rippling time a
voluble blip
In your restive
heart-star
Winking at the
semi-darkness
Candle on the
ocean’s scar
Thoughts ~ ~ …
life forms
Of their own
massed holograph,
Kaleidoscopic orbs
Re-circling the
vacuum of
What once was of
cranial dust
Now
transcendent-luminous
Echelon of Earth’s
God-stroked genesis
Fingering of
divine tracing beam
That then became
inculcated Sapiens
In those ruminate
clouds where
Slipstream dreams
are swallowed
A greater force is
recognized,
Finds its collided
deluge
Its then-fling
with death’s tiny surprise
A taste that
immortality seizes from a ‘high!
Passion’s aurora
gate, amber-ridden bliss
The folds that
cupped my mortal sting
Are now my Soul’s
Release.

SO BEAUTIFUL. SO GONE
(Written for my
dog Bear, anniversary of
his death July
5th, 2015)
The doorman won’t
show me the door, he said,
because I’ve
already walked through that threshold of pain
no coming back; no
turning back.
my dog for whom I
grieved,
so beautiful.
so gone.
The carpenter
won’t show me the window, she said,
because my spirit
has flown through it to the other side
no looking back;
no crawling back.
my dog for whom I
went looking for,
so beautiful.
so gone.
Family, friends
are calling me, they say
but I can’t hear
them, I’m so far away
this part of me
that died has left the heart
torn inside out,
the twisted gut of tears
leaking their way
to a gentler Heaven
no turning back,
oh no ~ do you hear me
for whom I grieve?
both of US,
so beautiful.
so gone.

SOUL-STAR
Inside my linear
brokenness
Beneath the skin’s
graffiti
You will find
crimson, star-lit ringlets
Of unwept tears
They don’t want to
weep
They rise like
doves to drink your empathy
That doesn’t blame
nor feel sorry for the victim,
Only the blinking
scar.
They float,
anatomically attached to walls
Of singing hope’s
whispering desire
Fragile amulets of
diamond Myrrh
Like gifts from a
goddess, demure
Streaming through
the veins of your everglades.
We exist in a
Snow-Globe
Of insatiable
star-fall
Meteor sprinkles
of cosmic interludes
Summoning patterns
of ageless inquisition
Seeking the child,
within
Healing the
aftermaths, holocaustic storms
That raped
innocence and left the sin
To bleed there in
a Black Hole’s gaping abdomen.
How kindness
adheres to my bones, like glass
A prism reflecting
your love
Strobe-light of
pulsing touch
Fiery enclaves of
electric sting.
You reach inside
me, pull out the Rose,
And leave all the
thorns to die.

DeleteSusan writes the "language of the soul", engaged to awaken her readers in her heights and depths. Her writing is described by a literary excellence and authenticity with spiritual tenor. Susan "practices" poetry as a spiritual evolvement and expansion, cultivating, wisdom, compassion, love. Each of her poem is like a spiritual voyage, a path to a greater meaning. In many of her writings in fact you can sense the relationship between the terrestrial and the Divine.
ReplyDeleteHi Anca, my Spiritual-Guide, my ever-lasting friend who's talent is showcased all over the world and in multi-languages, so that those in foreign countries can come to know this Poet who blends lyrical verse with spiritual and her works are Soul-Songs ~ I've always told Anca she's a Visitor not from this world, for she is an Earth Angel and I'm glad she's here to guide me in the right paths of poetic achievement, for through Anca have I grown in all ways to be a better person and writer to make her proud of me as much as I am so proud of this Prolific and Famous Poet!!!! Her works will remind you of the Greats, the two that come to mind are Rumi, the 13th Century Sufi Poet and Pablo Neruda.
DeleteMythology is missing one divinity: 'The perceiver' I endow you with this title, Anca!.....J
DeleteLove you Anca <3

DeleteI love the layers upon layer of symbolism and the combination of this as well as to the point kinda approach reminds me how I would to write and have others understand the way I go is the only way I can write, thank you for the honour of hearing yr verse and seeing something that really makes me aware of things in a way that I haven't seen it before . Evocative probing depth all these r in yr work .i wish I was a better writer to express how I feel about yr work Susan
ReplyDeleteJeff you are my latest Poetic Hero; I am your newest Fan! You had me at your poem The Crush ... the first poem I read of yours in my Poetry Forum. I want to read your book! Awesome...
ReplyDeleteThank you Bonnie; I detect mutual admiration here, for not only do I love you as a friend and a close one at that, but your writing is spellbinding and profound ... displaying a degree of high intelligence that can still drift down to laymen like us and be the Poetic Feathers that float around our hearts as we read through the lines and decipher all the jewels your words have to offer. You are a true treasure and that's a good thing: we are POETRY TREASURE HUNTERS always looking for the next great poem and we halt on the breaks when we see YOUR NAME ..... knowing it's going to be an amulet of word gifts. A true Soul-Nectar Treat.
DeleteThis dear friend is a true poet and brilliant writer who moves me with every read of her work. She is inspiring, gracious in her comments to others and always willing to help where and when she can. It has been a pleasure to be her friend.
ReplyDeleteTom, thank you. Any comment coming from you is so special because I am humbled and tongue-twisted in your presence. When someone like you LARGER THAN LIFE pays the slightest attention to an UnKnown like myself, it means a wake up call that you'd better strive to be even better than before because we are constantly learning and teaching each others whether we are aware of it or not. And ohhhh you've taught me more than you will ever know. And each day reading you is a nostalgic reminder of Why I fell in Love with Poetry in the first place, my SONNET MASTER.....

ReplyDeletelovimiamarie
Hey hun, I think this ran through twice but I love hearing what you have to say even the second time around, for there is mutual admiration where we both are concerned. I'm so impressed with YOU as well and I definitely could learn from YOU.
DeleteWhat can I say about Author Susan Joyner-Stumpf that her poetic writes have not already said? Well, I got a little help from Webster. According to Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary (Eleventh Edition) a poet is defined 1: "one who writes poetry: a maker of verses. 2: one (as a creative artist) of great imaginative and expressive capabilities and special sensitivity to the medium" (Webster, M. 2012. Merriam- Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Eleventh Edition, Page: 956). What I learned in all of that is; Webster's too intelligent for his own good, because he forgot to add the brilliant Author Susan Joyner Stumpf, defined 3: the hardest working poet across the globe. Pittsburgh Author Renee' Drummond-Brown (Renee's Poems with Wings are Words in Flight).
ReplyDeleteThank you Renee; for your words have struck gold in my heart with their power ... they have entered my cells, my veins, and there they sing because of the strength of your Poetic voice that speaks for all of us, that speaks for those who don't have a voice or may be afraid of their voice, you are there for them and you are there for me to look up to and I do, oh yes, I do!!! And I love you Sister!!!!
ReplyDeleteDear Susan your writing is magnificent. I love your moving and deep poetry that touches me to my core.. you are the most prolific and wondrous writer of all.. these are all just so beautiful and touching!! Keep on writing.. the world needs more beauty in it.. Much Love you Susan!!!! <3

DeleteThe fortitude of this soul is such that neither cosmic infinity, nor earthly divinity could ever restrain its potent release. A soul which travels through darkness and light unhindered, not an a voyage of discovery, but on a voyage of jubilation and acknowledgement of the forces that be that create being. As she meanders through light and dark, through knowing and unknowing, through episodes of past, through episodes of what is to come, Susan replenishes her soul with the atoms of eternity. The grace of this woman's soul forms colliding particles and atoms of time unknown into waves of undying poetry. That, for me, is Susan. Posted by James Cairns. a kindred soul.
ReplyDeleteWow James I'm blown away by your feedback, hope I'm worthy of such praise ..... you've been a friend and a supporter that I have grown quite fond of; we met with our mutual friend Anca and then you and I's friendship took off from there in another direction. I am blessed totally to have met you !!!!!!
