Evolving
Change happened
once she stopped
obsessing about
them
redirecting
focus on herself
looking inwards
channeling
thoughts
on self
With little time
left
imperative it
was
to bring
equilibrium
bring a
semblance of order
in a hitherto
chaotic life lead
well-earned
entitlement
...They found it
strange
...so used to
her ministrations
...Surmised must
have lost it
...Ha! Ha! she
laughed to herself
...So be it!

In Cahoots
that day when we
walked
by the riverside
your hand in
mine
like a roadside
Romeo
the wind
whistled in our ears
was it
celebrating or
mocking,
denigrating,
this love that
was ours?
To add insult to
injury
skies grinned
from ear to ear
dripping with
sarcasm
dried frangipani
blossoms
showered on us,
as if
that's all we
deserved
moon in cahoots
with stars
failed to show
up
why was this
treatment meted,
to a couple who
found love
in their sunset
years?
Voices in my
head screamed
"This
togetherness they envy,
in a world where
love has deceased"
