LASZLO ARANYI

Tail

                     Fox-gaited,

              its flesh prickly, thorned,

                     it returns, wherever it sets out…

      To dive is feather-light:

             floating remnants in the sustaining nets of the surface.

                           The inquisitor decides,

                    from now on let fire consume for witchcraft.

      (Ereshkigal, our sister, is only another aspect.)

             Cunning torment escapes into orgasm;

             when the Lord is a ball of tangled thread,

             be the scissors,

             if He hides, remain manifested.

Farok

                     Róka-járású,

              szúrós, tövises a húsa,

                     visszajön, bárhová indul…

       Merülni pillekönnyű:

              lebegő maradványok a felszín fenntartó hálóiban.

                            Az inkvizítor dönt,

                     Innanát boszorkányságért eméssze tűz.

       (Ereskigal nővérünk csak egy más aspektus.)

                     Orgazmusba menekül az agyafúrt kín;

              amikor az Úr gombolyított fonál,

              legyél olló,

              ha rejtőzik, maradj megnyilvánult.

The Woeful Knight Against Medusa

            We turn to stone when we look at her.

            She has no reflection.

            Yet the sickle frees her from her head;

            Perseus strikes "bat-blind",

     (he still sees - only differently...),

                   from beneath his rusting Hittite antlered helmet

                          the Honeyland swill tastes bitter,

            he still wears a sandal only on one foot,

            while the furious woman comes after him on a bicycle

            along the trail of canned destiny...

A búsképű lovag Medusza ellen

                      Kővé változunk, ha ránézünk.

                      Tükörképe sincs.

                      Ám a sarló megszabadítja fejétől,

                             „denevér-vakon” sújt le Perszeusz,

               (lát azért, csak máshogy...),

                      rozsdásodó, szarvas hettita-sisakjából

                                           keserű a mézföldi lőre,

                             csak egyik lábán van most is saru,

                                    a dühödt asszony biciklin jön utána

                      konzerv-végzet ösvényén…
