I Am Waiting

 

And somewhere now a war is raging loud,

And somewhere cruel battles never cease,

For some — a medal, noble and so proud,

For some — a handful of the earth and peace.

 

My aching soul is filled with heavy grief,

For time, for people, and for cities burned,

The ground is blazing, giving no relief,

While minds and hearts to hostility have turned.

 

Oh, how to bring them back to peaceful shores,

To reconcile the souls of angry men?

To stop the stream of death and bitter wars,

When winter snow begins to melt again?

 

And somewhere they are waiting for the brave,

And somewhere children take their very first breath,

The soldiers will return from battlefield and brave,

To hug their mothers, leaving pain and death.

 

And so, I wait, I wait for spring to rise,

When people shout "Hurrah!" with joyful cheer,

And all the sounds of silent, nightly skies

Will be much brighter than they were last year.

 

It’s The Light That The Gods Shed

 

Through the darkness of clouds breaks a powerful ray,

Illuminating the path with its might,

And the people are walking to God on their way,

For their journey is holy and bright.

 

It’s the light that the gods shed from heaven above,

To the palaces built on the earth.

It’s a day that awakens with gentleness, love,

Giving sinners and saints a new birth.

 

It awakens the souls of the rebels below,

Putting garments of grace on their parts,

And it kindles a holy and passionate glow

In the rhythmic beats of their hearts.

 

And our universe shines in the glorious space,

Like the Grail in its heavenly scope,

As the nights turn to days in a timeless embrace,

Lighting fires of undying hope.
