Love
It cannot be
told
by drowning
someone in false words,
by smothering
them in gifts,
by laying red
carpets along their path.
Never with
splendor
love is not
wrapped in shining paper.
To love
is to sit at the
edge of the soul,
without a rope
of safety,
with a lamp that
gives no light,
and descend into
a mysterious well.
To love
is to wander
fearlessly
through the
hidden chambers of faces
where fragile
dawns tremble.
In that dark
silence,
to hear what is
left unsaid,
to see what
mirrors do not reflect,
to become the
sun that enlightens hearts
with sincere
glances mistaken for faintness.
Even if
centuries pass,
though fragile
and trembling,
it is the
majestic mountain
whose name never
changes,
the one you
always seek refuge in
to love.

Sevgi
Sahte
sözcüklerle
hediyelere
boğmakla
yollarına
kırmızı halılar sermekle
anlatılmaz
İhtişamla hiç
olmaz
sevgi, parlak
kâğıtlara sarılmaz.
Sevmek,
ruhun kenarında
oturmaktır,
güven ipi
olmadan,
ışık vermeyen
bir lamba ile
esrarengiz bir
kuyuya inmektir.
Sevmek,
kırılgan
şafakların titrediği
yüzlerin gizli
odalarında
korkusuzca
dolaşmaktır
o karanlık
sessizlikte
söylenmeyeni
duymak,
aynaların
yansıtmadıklarını görmek
soluk sanılan
samimi bakışlarla
gönülleri
aydınlatan güneş olmaktır
Asırlar geçse
kırılgan ve
titrek olsa da
adı değişmeyen
hep sığındığın
o heybetli dağdır, sevmek...

The Truth
Someone is
shouting,
their voices
like rusty bells
striking the
windows of the city
Someone is
scraping the ear,
like a blind
knife
tearing the
night apart
“I asked, who
are they?”
The neighbors
whispered:
— They are
thieves…
They stole the
sweat of labor,
they gathered
many curses.
God sealed their
doors.
Some crossed to
the opposite sidewalk
but the smell of
their sins
had seeped into
their shoes.
Wherever they
stepped,
it followed
them.
“I asked: ‘Who
are they?’”
They know
neither right nor law…
they said.
The scales in
their hands are broken,
their conscience
is crooked.
Some
peek from
between the curtains
They haven’t
stepped outside for years
Shame has been
drawn across their faces
like a thin
veil.
“I asked, why?”
They are
slanderers…they said.
Their words were
poisonous,
they turned back
and burned them.
Then the
neighbors turned to me:
What are you
doing here?
I, have come to
lend my shoulder
to those whose
doors were sealed
In streets that
smell of sin
I now carry
flowers
I will touch
rusted hearts
with my hands
and turn them
into mirrors
Into the thief’s
palm
I will place the
warmth of labor,
into the one you
call cruel
I will leave a
child in pain
I will tear
slander
out of its
tongue,
and instead, the
truth will flow.
I will embrace
them all.
I will hold them
so tightly
that their shame
will loosen and fall away.
And one morning
no one will shout.
No one will hide
behind curtains.
Evil,
like a child who
does not know its name,
will gently
learn goodness
in a
compassionate embrace.
Hakikat
Birileri
bağırıyor
sesleri paslı
çan gibi
vuruyor şehrin
camlarına
Birileri kulak
tırmalıyor
geceyi yırtan
kör bir bıçak
gibi
“Sordum, kim
bunlar?”
Komşular
fısıldadı:
— Hırsız onlar…
Alın teri
çaldılar,
çok beddua
aldılar.
Allah mühür
vurdu kapılarına.
Birileri karşı
kaldırıma geçti
ama
günahlarının
kokusu
Ayakkabılarına
sinmişti.
Nereye bassalar
Peşlerinden
geldi.
“Sordum: ‘Kim
bunlar?’”
— Hak ve hukuk bilmezler…
Dediler.
Ellerindeki
teraziler kırık,
Çarpıktır
vicdanları
Birileri
perdenin
arasından bakıyor
Yıllardır sokağa
çıkamamışlar
Utanç, yüzlerine
çekilmiş
İnce bir tül.
“Sordum, neden?”
— İftiracı
onlar…
Dediler.
Sözleri
zehirliydi,
geri dönüp yaktı
kendilerini
Sonra bana döndü komşular:
— Senin ne işin var burada?
Ben, kapıları mühürlenenlere
omuz vermeye geldim
Günah
kokan sokaklarda
çiçek taşıyorum şimdi
Pas
tutmuş kalplere
ellerimi sürüp
Ayna yapacağım.
Hırsızın
avucuna
emeğin sıcaklığını,
Zalimin içine
Sızlayan bir çocuk bırakacağım.
İftirayı
dilinden söküp alacağım,
Yerinde gerçekler akacak
Sarılacağım hepsine.
Öyle sıkı sarılacağım ki
Utançları çözülüp düşecek.
Ve bir sabah
kimse
bağırmayacak.
Kimse
saklanmayacak perdelerin ardına.
Kötülük
adını bilmeyen
bir çocuk gibi
şefkatli bir
kucakta
usulca öğrenecek
iyiliği
